Maw Clan Encounter

[DM]

Having decided to follow up on the sounds of combat from the East, Uther, Authari, Corin and Hasnafar lead the others further into the passages. Forty feet from the door that Hasnafar had opened, a passage leads to the South. The sounds come from that direction. Continuing on, there's a door immediately to the right, and then the passage veers to the East once more. The sounds grow louder…

Thirty feet down the passage, another door is set in the South wall. Another thirty feet, and the passage doglegs to the north and then east. The sounds are much clearer…

Yips and cries, and bellows and curses, are just up ahead…

Coming through the dogleg, the passage once more turns to the South. There, only thirty feet down the passage, are several figures. In the light of Authari's torch, and that of one of the men down the passage, it is clear that there are a couple men fighting with solid determination against an unknown number of kobolds. The battle has been going on for a bit – both sides had lost members. The battle looks to have started closer to the adventurers – there is one woman and two kobolds lying in the passage at Uther's feet, bleeding out. He does not recognize any of the humans (or any of the kobolds for that matter).

Even as those in front watch, another of the humans drops, gurgling, with a small crossbow bolt in his throat. The last human turns toward the group, obviously looking to run, but takes more than one javelin in the back, flicked from the kobolds at the front of their line, as he does so. He drops with a clatter, and his sword is sent skidding ten feet down the passage toward the group.

There are several kobold bodies scattered about where the men made their stand. There are also several more still on their feet – and they don't look happy. One toward the front rather adroitly retrieves a javelin from the back of the human he'd dropped, crouching and holding the thing at the ready like a small spear.

It cries out, in broken common, “Why you here! Go ‘way, leave Maw Clan be! No more!”

[OOC – not quite combat rounds yet. The kobolds to the front are pretty beat. They don't quite look ready to attack yet…]

[Corin]

"What does Maw Clan do in this place?" Corin asks, arrow still placed on his bow, ready to fire although the business end of the arrow points downward to the tiles for the moment. Eyes narrowed he scans the small dog-like creatures, silently sizing up their mettle.

[Mililani]

The priestess approaches the dying woman and kneels before her.  She checks to see if she can do anything to stop the bleeding.  She ignores the dying kobolds.

[DM]

The lead kobold lets loose a high growl, and then says, "This Maw Clan home.  Take from dead females - now all ours!  No more humans," the little fellow growls again, "or Orcs,"  this time he spits in disgust, "come to hurt us!  No more!  Go now!"

[Uther]

The tall man looks on indifferently at the carnage, but listens carefully to the kobold.  "How long ago did the Maw Clan claim this place?  We have no love of the orcs either.  Which way did they go?  Or did you kill them all?"

[DM]

"Maw Clan be here long time.  Long time!"  Then, after glancing back at it's mates for a moment, it puffs out it's chest and says, "kill all orcs!  Kill everything try take Maw Clan home!"  The other kobolds start yipping, nodding and grinning...

It's obvious to everyone in the party that this last just might be a bit of an exaggeration on the kobold's part...

[Hasnafar]

Hasnafar simply keeps watch on the dirty little creatures waiting for his companions to gather all the information they need…

[Uther]

The Calishite lowers his sword and nods at the kobold.  "Then, we have no fight.  We too would kill any orcs that we find."  Uther gives the kobold leader a long, discerning look before continuing.  "I would propose that we help the Maw Clan defend their home by killing more orcs as we find them.  Your people have been here a long time.  We will kill any orcs we find.  In return, you send your best scout with us to help find our way.  What say you?"

[Hasnafar]

Hasnafar simply looks at Uther like he's grown two heads. In a low voice he says, “These rats can't be trusted… even if we ran into an orc, they might help us kill it, and then attack us while we are hurt ourselves. And unless I'm wrong, your also not party leader, so don't make deals for the whole group without asking.”

[Uther]

Uther nods quietly at Hasnafar's comment and then responds just as low.  " I know, but I've promised nothing. extra.  I will kill any orcs I find anyway.  So would you I warrant.  Perhaps this way, we'll have a guide.  And a quick answer leaves him with little reason to doubt us." he says.

[Corin]

Corin looks briefly over his shoulder to look at Hasnafar, once he has a moment of the man's attention, he nods and says, "More or less the same course I would have taken. I have no love for the critters either…" Then with a wink he says, "…you'll be the perfect man to keep the scout in line..."

Then he turns towards the lead kobold and squats to look the creature in the eyes at its own height, "Orcs have hurt and killed his mates…" The ranger says with a voice tinged with anger and he indicates Uther, "…and now we are angry with the orcs, and those that run with the pig-snouts."

Once more Corin gestures towards the Janissary, "The mighty warrior's sword has tasted orc-blood and is hungry for more; you have tasted orc-blood on your weapons and want more. Your clan is powerful, but you are hurt and you have lost members of your pack. We will replace those members for the orc-hunt; tall fighters that can look the pig-faces into their eyes as they die squealing…"

[DM]

When the request for a guide is made, the lead kobold once more looks back, and the expressions on his companion's faces become uneasy.  A couple of those closer to the front start edging back...

Then, with a snapping bark, the lead kobold points at the next kobold in line with his 'spear'.  A heated exchange erupts between the two - the chosen kobold obviously wants nothing to do with this.  The lead kobold ends the discussion with a harsh wave of his hand, then turns back to the group.

It growls low in it's throat once more, then says, "Snik go."  The group can see Snik, the chosen kobold, glaring at it's leader from where he's sulking.  "All loot split fifty-fifty."  The lead kobold looks rather pleased with itself at this demand.  The other kobolds all exchange looks - at first speculative, then with smiling agreement.  Only Snik is still scowling...

[Uther]

Uther does not flinch at the request.  "Your home split fifty-fifty too then.  We kill orcs to help defend your home.  You get to keep home for our work.  Snik get fair share when he helps in battle."

[Mililani]

Yet, even under her veil, Mililani can barely keep herself from laughing out loud at the conversation between Corin, Uther and the Kobolds.  She looks up at Uther and Corin and whispers in Alzhedo, "if we had access to a spell of sleep, we could end his charade quickly and leave a few alive for interrogation."  They're is a glint of viciousness in her eyes.  "They're vermin and cowardly.  They would betray us at the first opportunity that would best suit them."

[DM OOC – Mililani searches the body, and pockets ( 2 ) scrolls and a potion, as well as some oil, food and water. OOC – Mililani - Yes, she took the fallen woman's pack and placed it on Amber's Mule.  She kept the potion, the pints of oil and the waterskin for herself however.  I'm going to study the potion for a bit before adding it to the group treasure.]

[Uther]

Uther's eyes narrow at her suggestion before he responds in his native tongue.  "And how is trapping and killing them in their sleep not verminly or cowardly?  Nay, we would be no better.  And, I only suggested a single scout accompany us.  Treachery by one of them is an acceptable risk for help navigating these passages."

[Corin]

"I guess you learn to negotiate tough when one is dealing with the cronies of the syl-pasha," Corin comments in Alzhedo, after he rises to his feet, accepting the offer of `Snik the Scout' with a nod of his head.

[DM]

The lead kobold's eyes widen, and all of the others start muttering darkly.  "No!  No outsiders in Maw Clan home!  Maw Clan send guide, get fifty-fifty.  You go away.  Deal!"

[Corin]

"Yes, after we settle the fifty-fifty, we leave." Corin says quickly to calm the exited kobold. "But we determine the time when we settle things…" He finishes muttering in Alzhedo.

[DM]

The leader looks somewhat appeased at the ranger's statement, but still wary.  "What mean settle?  Snik get fifty-fifty."  The kobold starts pointing at each of the members of Corin's group.  "Fifty, fifty, fifty, fifty, fifty, fifty, fifty," and then he turns and jabs his 'spear' at Snik, "and fifty!  Fair.  Take or leave."  The kobold leader turns and scowls at Corin.  It's companions all nod and bare their teeth (except Snik, who's looking rather sulky).

[Corin]

Inclining his head, Corin cannot help but smile a little. "Indeed great one, it'll be as you say, fifty, fifty, fifty…" Corin indicates the individual kobolds as he calls out the `fifties' for each.

[Amber]

Amber sees to it that the mule is kept behind the corner, "Gods know what the creatures will do to you" she mutters in as she pushes it back a bit. "Corin" she says in Alzhedo when she is done "ask them about that crazed woman, or what ever it was. Seeing as they have been here a long time they should know something about it." She takes a few steps towards the kobolds as to show them who is speaking.

[Hasnafar]

In Alzhedo, Hasnafar says, "Let's get this over with, the smell of them is disgusting."

[Authari]

The young warrior looks on incredulously as the others barter with the kobolds, simply shaking his head.
As a bargain is reached, he looks to the others and says in Alzhedo, "We're not going to leave their bodies here...for them to *gulp*..eat, are we?"

[Corin]

Carefully removing the arrow from his bow, Corin cautiously puts it back in the quiver. “Who knows what else we might be smelling… this might not be the worst…”

Keeping the bow loosely in his hand he steps towards the corpse killed by javelins. Sliding his foot partially underneath the body, Corin flips it over, and studies the man's features.

[OOC - Nope - no one recognizes the fellow]

[DM]

The lead kobold, gripping his 'spear' firmly, holds his ground as Corin approaches, eyeing him suspiciously.  "What you doing?  You not take Maw Clan loot!"  And then, with a twitch of his 'spear', it adds, "but you take sword if want.  Too big for Maw Clan warriors."  It gestures at the blade that the man killed by javelins had dropped.

[OOC - MW long sword]

Meanwhile, Snik, still scowling, abruptly turns away.  He shoves his way back to one of the crossbow'men', and, with a punch, takes it's crossbow.  Then he takes it's bolts.  Then he turns and takes the bolts from the next crossbow'man'.  Most of his mates are by then grinning widely at him.  Finally, moving forward, he stops at the man that had died with a bolt in the throat and snaps up the short sword (which is about as big a blade as he can manage) the man had been carrying.  Several of the kobolds further back bark in laughter.  Snik looks unrepentant, even when the leader makes fierce faces at him...

[Corin]

“Thank you, mighty warrior.” Corin says to the kobold as he frowns not recognizing the dead man, muttering, “I wonder what else we'll find…” Turning back towards the others – and almost casually presenting his own back to the kobolds – he moves over to pick up the sword. “Looks like we have a guide…” The ranger says, switching back from the common tongue, “Brianna, Amber, Mil… any chance one of you knows a ‘trick' to converse with the critter? ‘T would make communication a bit easier than talking with hands and feet…”

[ooc: Corin is only picking up the sword, but not (yet?) claiming it...]

[DM]

Snik, having slung his sword across his back (the hilt rides over his right shoulder like some northern barbarian), grips his crossbow and pauses when he reaches the leader. In an exchange of barks and yips, Snik the the leader speak for a moment, and then Snik walks reluctantly off toward the group.

The leader is grinning open-mouthed at the disgruntled kobold, and so are the kobolds behind the leader.

Snik looks up at Corin and Uther, it's little eyes filled with anger. “Dumb Blaf. Dead females take him. Where want go, Hoomans?” His voice is, if anything, just a bit more high-pitched than the leader.

[Uther]

Uther eyes the new member of the group.  Then, with a firm hand on his small shoulder, Uther grins slightly.  "Welcome Snik.  You will be rewarded handsomely for your bravery and work.  But, beware that we will watch you closely.  No tricks from you and you will be treated fairly."

[DM]

Snik looks with disdain at the hand on his shoulder (which is a bit amusing coming from the 2 and a half foot tall warrior), and a growl rumbles in his throat. “Touch again, hooman, and lose hand!” he says, jerking away. “Snik show way. Get loot. No tricks!” He eyes the Calishite up and further up. “Snik watch, too, hooman,” he adds, trying to make his voice sound deeper (and failing badly). “No tricks!”

Snik starts pushing his way through the giants that have now ruined his life (and likely shortened it). Then, coming around the corner, he sees the meat. He jerks to a halt, eyes wide, and reaches for his sword. “Yum!” He's already salivating…

Amber's mule snorts uneasily…

[Amber]

Amber sees the drooling little kobold and intervenes by placing herself in between the buffe´and it's dinner guest. Clearing her throat she says "I wouldn't eat him now, he is way to cheewy." She gets down to eye level with the creature and ads  "If you help out nicely I might be able to fix you up with something just as tasty as a mule. She mumbles some arcane words and diggs in her pack after some of the trail rations but turns her back to the kobold when doing so. She turns around again and in her hand holds a juicy stakeish like object. "I am a sorceress of quite some renown among my people." she says to Snik still sitting hunched over to keep her eyes at the same level as his. She ads in a more serious tone though  "I could give you similar things like this if you promise not to eat my mule, not even a bite." She puts the peiece of meat back into her pouch and finishes it all by painting the crude shape of a donky with an x over it in the air. "Understand?!" she queries Snik.

OOC: Ok she will cast prestidigitation, and use it to change the shape and slightly the size of a sausage or simillar meatish object from her trail rations. To look like something a bit more tastier and something a kobold might like. and also the hovering image.

[DM]

Snik makes a clicking sound in his throat. His tongue flicks out and licks his snout, and he nods…

[Mililani]

"Amber, that thing will eat your treat, then the mule," she says sternly in Alzhedo.  Her noise under her veil crinkles annoyingly at the filthy scent of the kobold's unwashed body.

She looks at Snik menacingly and says in common, "That mule," she points, "not dinner, ever."

[DM]

Snik, eyes narrowing, exposes his teeth and growls at the veiled female. “Mule not dinner…” he says. He continues to stare at Mililani for a few seconds longer though…

[Authari]

Authari watches the kobold thoughtfully for a minute, then says, "Snik, we saw one dead female. How many different ones have you seen?"

[DM]

With another low growl, Snik says, “Dead females,” and waves his hand. “All over. Eat Maw Clan warriors. Maw Clan fight off.” Snik looks up with a grin. “Dead females eat orcs and hoomans now…”

[Hasnafar]

In Alzedho Hasnafar says calmly, “Well… as I said, the leader already told him to double cross us. Told him to get us out of their territory and take us to the caverns so the ‘dead females' can take care of us and then come home with our stuff. The other ones made fun of him and wished him luck.”

 [Amber]

"We found some holes in the walls before, would that be the making of these dead women or by something else?" Amber asks Snik as she grabs hold of the reins of the mule making herself ready to leave.

[Corin]

“Well done Hasnafar.” The ranger says as he approaches the mule to stow the dead adventurer's sword. “He can take us there later, first we'll hunt some orc. And I don't think they went down those small tunnels…”

“Snik. We hunt orc first. Show us orc.” Corin then indicates Hasnafar to follow the kobold, whispering to the man as he moves past the ranger, “Keep an eye on him. First sign of betrayal and you have my leave to disposition the critter.” As soon as Snik and Hasnafar are in front, the ranger says to the others, “Same order as before, Amber and Brianna follow Uther and me, Mililani and Authari guard the rear. Mil, your eyes might be invaluable in case our little yapping friends decide on a nasty surprise…”

[Hasnafar]

Hasnafar nods, and moves into his normal position in the marching order…

[Uther]

Uther nods in agreement as well and prepares himself to continue on.

[Authari-new]

The young Tethyrian nods his head in assent, and with one last mistrustful glance back at the band of kobolds, resumes his place in line, battleaxe in hand.

[DM]

As Snik sulkily takes his place in the front, with only a couple snarls and growls directed at Hasnafar, he says, in response to the funny red haired female, “Don't know who make holes. Dead females use some – Dens. Others gots more nasty things. Some nothing. Some deep. Maw Clan come from-” Snik's muzzle shuts with a snap, and he looks back at the humans about him with a low rumbling growl. “Come. Show way.”

[Amber]

"Thank you Snik, please lead the way" she says with a genuin smile to the kobold. She brushes of some dust that has gathered on her clothes, seeing as the spell is still in effect no time to waste.

[Mililani]

Mililani's stomach knots up and if her face could be seen under her veil, it would show an expression of revulsion.  Her sapphire blue eyes, seen the darkness by the party, would show her current frame of mind.  "They sound like ghouls," she says in Alzhedo with pangs of disgust.  In Alzhedo, she continues, "Corin, the dead women, we will destroy them, won't we?"

[Corin]

“If we come upon them; yes.” The ranger replies before he switches to the common tongue, “At first we need to look for the trail of the orcs and Uther's comrades. But we need to be on alert for these undead women, as well as for likely other surprises that Snik has not yet remembered to tell us about…”

[DM]

In minutes, with Snik and Hasnafar in the lead, the group returns to the branch in the passage where Hasnafar had checked the door into the supposed storage room…

[Mililani]

The priestess nods with Corin's response.  "My abilities are at your disposal."  Her voice's demeanor is modest.

She turns to join Authari but stops and says, "one more thing, if these are ghouls, do not let them scratch, or worse, bite you.  Ghouls can pass their cursed affliction with a bite.  The fever takes its course within a few days, but in the end...."  Her voice trails off.  "....I dread to think if their are ghoulish orcs wandering the Harem."

The last thought gives her chills as she takes her place in the back of the party.

[Amber]

"So how does one create the first ghoul then?" the sorceress asks "it is obvious that the crazed women are the harem girls." she finishes with. "or at least what used to be the harem girls." she ads in a lower tone, almost a whisper.

[Mililani]

"I honestly don't know Amber," replies the priestess.  "Undeath is not natural.  Ghouls are more of a mockery of the living.  Men and women that should been laid to rest long ago.  Tragically, they tend to be servants of more powerful undead, indeed more so if they hunt in packs."  The priestess stops and takes in a deep breath.  "I hope I'm wrong..."

[Hasnafar]

Hasnafar looks over at Mililani and says, “So… what did you find on the corpse, besides the two scrolls and potion you tried to hide away so no one saw it?”

[Mililani]

"A little louder trapfinder, the kobolds didn't hear you," replies the priestess in Alzhedo, her voice steep in irritation.

Continuing in Alzhedo but in a smoother demeanor, she says, "but if you wish to know, 3 pints of oil for the lantern.  A pint of which I will take for myself and a waterskin filled with drinking water.  I can cleanse the waters in the name of Mystra and use it as holy draught.  I was hoping I could find a few flasks though."

"I also salvaged a winter blanket, the potion and two scrolls.  I wish to study the scrolls when we have a chance to rest.  I can not use arcane spells, yet, so if they contain the magics of Mystra and Azuth I will place them with the party treasure or give them to Amber.  She can use the magics they contain better than anyone else."

[Uther]

The warrior shakes his head before joining the discussion,  "Would you have shared your find with us had you not been seen priestess?  I saw you take the items for yourself as well.  Rest assured, priestess, I will watch you just as closely as the kobold."  Uther regrips his sword and begins to address the others.  "The time for bickering over baubles is over.  There are orcs to avenge and brothers to save."

[Amber]

"For all I care you may all backstab eachother "when" we are out of here with all the loot." Amber says with a helpless gesture.  "Talking about loot I think we should go and check out that storage room. It might contain something of value, or that we can use to aid the Jennesair... If not, at least we know as much." she ads and begins to move of towards the (*gasp*) unlooted storage room.

[Corin]

“The choice is yours to make…” The Tethyrian ranger says to all members of the group, his voice controlled, but containing a hint of displeasure, “…but I'm not stopping at each interesting looking room to see what could potentially be looted or not. The only rooms we secure that do not lead us straight to the orcs or the Janissaries are those that we need to secure as a place to rest… and for those that need their studies or prayers to do so safely and in a defensible spot.”

“Make up your mind on what you want to do. If there are those that want to go sight-seeing here, they can do so without me.”

[ooc: Corin is deliberately ignoring the discussion on the items Mil 'recovered' from the corpse - at least for now.]

[Authari]

Authari eyes the priestess warily as she takes her place in the formation, unsure what to think about her retrieval of items from the recently deceased. He glances repeatedly in the direction of the kobolds and bodies, as if he finds something unsettling. With a sigh and heft of his battleaxe, the youth catches Corin's eye and nods, as if to say that he is ready to move on .

[Amber]

"I do not agree, if we do not search the rooms we pass at least remoetly we leave us open for a suprise attack if we are not careful. At least that is what I have gathered from during `surviving`adventurers conversations." she says shifting the spear from left to right hand, not in a threathening move though. "I can agree on that, until we save the Janissaries at least do not loot the rooms, but search them out for any possible dangers, as secret passages, doors things like that." if we can block any other doors leading to these rooms limiting or way of passage that would be good as well." the sorceress seems able to keep it up for as long as she likes.

[Authari]

"Perhaps we should just, well, open the doors and peek inside. I don't want to waste any time, but I don't like the thought of any of those... women... sneaking up behind me, especially if one decides to do it while we're fighting orcs," Then, with a glance at Snik, he continues in Alzhedo, "or walking into a trap."

[Mililani]

She looks at Uther, eyes wide in disbelief, as if she were insulted and her honor was stained.  Her blue eyes soften almost ready to weep.  "I am no thief,"  she says to anyone willing to listen.  She turns and looks at Authari, still saddened then shakes her head saying nothing.

Lantern poised to illuminate the corridors of the lost Harem, Mililani hefts it then hefts her morning star over her right shoulder and prepares to follow the party wherever they may go.

[Corin]

"That depends sorceress, some doors are better left shut, lest what is kept behind them becomes a danger, while behind the closed door it is not." Corin's voice is measured as he makes his reply to Amber, "Look at it this way… if we were under the open sky, any danger can roam free. Now we are in this maze, and whatever is behind a locked door is not an immediate threat – unless it knows we are here and has a means to open the door. And remember also that it was curiosity that killed the cat..."

"If the trail leads us to a room then we can investigate, but if we go into every room, we unnecessarily delay ourselves. As for the undead jashinar, we will have to keep an eye out for them. They are more likely to wait for the outcome of any fight we might have with the orcs than join in."

[Uther]

The Calishite hears the priestess and turns back, speaking softly.  "Very well.  I've not known you long.  I will believe this was a mistake then and not a habit.  Please do not prove me wrong.  I will say no more on this."  Uther pauses for a moment, but then does say something more, "A band can survive in here, barely.  A group of individuals cannot."

"If we must peer into everyroom, then let it be only a peer."

[Amber]

"By the First Trader I didn't ..." with an annoyed stamp of her foot she turns around. With her back towards Corin she says "Fine we won't then, but don't blame me if we get attacked from the rear. With all the fighting going on I am sure what ever lurks around here is already up and about any way." She grabs hold of the reins to the mule and, pulls it along, more then leading it.

[Hasnafar]

Hasnafar chuckles and says in Alzhedo, “Whatever, trying to say you were hiding them from the kobolds. You have to work on covering your tracks better if your going to do that again.”

"I agree with Amber, it is not tactically sound to leave unchecked rooms behind."

Hasnafar shakes his head, "No Corin, wrong analogy...  Not all the door's are locked, and if we get into a fight then any door we leave unchecked behind us can be deadly... ever hear of the hammer and the anvil, I for one do not want to be caught between that.  Especially in a place like this.  It is foolish to leave the rooms unchecked, no I take that back, it's stupid."

[Corin]

"I wonder if it is the Calishite love for gold talking here…" Corin grumbles, "Fine, the first room we open and encounter trouble that would otherwise have stayed inside is going to be the last one. And for every dead among the Janessar that occurs because we had to check rooms for treasure instead of aiding them, I will hold the treasure hungry among us accountable."

"Your loyalties might lay elsewhere Calishite…" The ranger's darkened eyes flick from Hasnafar to Amber, "…the same goes for you sorceress. I now where mine are, I owe my life to the Janissaries, and that is a debt I'm willing to pay… and even die for."

[Hasnafar]

Hasnafar chuckles, “Sure, I admit I'm also here for the treasure… after all, if we don't get it, then only the kobolds or orcs or whatever else darkling monster will grab it. It's good to have morals, but they don't keep you warm on a cold night, and they don't feed you when your belly is growling. You might be able to survive in the deep woods eating berries and roots ranger, but that's not what I would call surviving.”

[Amber]

"Please don't insult me" Amber says in common with anger in her voice "I may be Calishite to you but too them I am nothing but a bastard and a halfbreed." she turns around to regard Corin as she clutches the lead rope of the mule. "So you would rather lead the group to ruin to hold your honor high." the sorceress green eyes gleams with an inner light of their own.

[Authari]

"Countryman, I have come to respect your skill and knowledge, but listen to the sense in Hasnafar's words, not his motives. If we rush through these halls, it would be all too easy for the orcs or...or worse, to lay in wait and jump out ahead and behind us. We won't save the Janessar by getting ourselves killed. I'm not saying we should scavenge and pilfer every room," says the young Tethyrian with a dark glance at the priestess, "just look and move on."

[Corin]

Corin shakes his head slowly at all the words, "A look and then we move on… Well, I guess I can agree with that. Unless the orcs or the Janissaries went into a room, it should hold no clue to them and it won't hold us up too much."

[Mililani]

While the others in the group voice their opinion, Mililani turns and secures the rear of the party. Mililani gazes into the darkness seeing if kobolds or another grey-skinned undead harem thing stalks the group unaware.

[Amber]

"Good, now that it is settled shall we move on" Amber says picking a strand of red hair out of her face.

[Brianna]

As the others discuss the merits of searching all the rooms, Brianna removes her mask and gently rubs her temples.  The strain from trying to understand everything being said has started an ache to form behind her eyes.  Even though she has started to understand quite a bit of Alzhedo just from hearing the others speak, there is still quite a lot she has to struggle with.

"We leaving now" she asks in halting Alzhedo as she replaces her mask, "or we waits for more Orcs?"

[Amber]

The sorceress nods at Brianna and says in common "Yes, we are leaving. We just gonna search this room and then move on" With that Amber follows after Hasnafar into the room. Let's shed some light on things shall we, Mil could you bring that lantern over here please." she asks the cleric.

[Mililani]

"I come," she says in common.  She follows Amber back towards the storage room.  "I'm curious as to why someone entered the room before we did.  If you remember, we found the entrance to the room Distrubed, but not ransacked.  Much of the cobwebs were destroyed and the dust scatted in all directions.  I say exercise caution when snooping through the crates and barrels."

[Corin]

As Hasnafar, Amber and then Mililani disappear into the small storage room, Corin moves forward to their kobold guide. Going down on one knee to be on eye-level with the little dog-like creature, the ranger asks, "Snik, when did humans and orcs come to attack the house of Maw Clan, many moons ago?"
