Posted - 13 Jun 2005 : 17:37:14 I am currently running a play-by-post game at my forums that starts out in Cormyr and eventually sends the players all over the realms looking for various clues and riddles to a specific puzzle. They are about to enter Thay and I was hoping some of you could give me some interesting side-quest ideas to add to the main adventure plot.
So, anyone got any ideas? The premise behind the adventure is that Cormyr is sponsoring a large scavenger hunt of sorts, the prize being given to the winner being land and title granted by the royals. To say the least, there are a lot of things that can happen and the PCs have a lot of competition. |

You could also check out the 'Perilous Gateways' articles on the WotC website. They offer possibilities for some nice 'hopping around the Realms'-type of action. |

"The Buried Ones: One group of adventurers exploring the Sunrise Mountains has come back with a tale of strange pale humans they found in a newly opened cave. These humans have the same features as the ruling Mulan race in Thay, but are as pale as albinos and almost completely blind. They weild weapons of gold that are as hard as steel and cast strange magic that gives off no light. The adventurers told the story in Pyarados before they left to fight these creatures, who many in Thay believe to be a degenerate offshoot of Mulhorandi trapped centuries ago."
What could they be? They surely don't speak Common. And what about those weapons? The main question: Who trapped them and why were the trapped?
And (supposing my brain isn't completely addled by the early hour), they make a brief cameo at the beginning of The Crimson Gold by Voronica Whitney-Robinson. |

Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 06:00:29 LordEverhate, do you have a copy of LEoF? There's quite a few ruins in the Thay area that are mentioned in the sourcebook and could provide quite a few side-quests.
Also, perhaps you could give us a few more details about your PCs so we can have a better understanding to help you. For example, if one of your PCs is a cleric of Kossuth, you could tie it in with Thay as Kossuth is one of the main deities worshipped in the area. |

Posted - 13 Jun 2005 : 17:47:10 Well there could be side quests to free slaves, perhaps a duaghter of a noble was kidnapped into slavery.
There almost certainly can be ruins from the prior wars with Aglarond and Rashemen that riches or artifacts could be rediscovered. |
