Is there a book out that i dont know about that explains the church hierarchy?? i have the Faiths and Pantheons book, but ti doesnt explain titles and such. im really looking into the Selunite religion if that helps. i know a couple of titles appeared in the Mistress of Night book in the Priest series (or was it Cleric series....). any help would be much appreciated. i thought i would try here before i ask THO or Ed for official info. they are pretty busy as it is  |

Yes, listen to Wooly on this one ... three 2nd edition books full of content ... The 3rd edition ... what can you say ... I do not own it. |

In addition to Faiths & Avatars, which covered the major Faerūnian deities, there was also Powers & Pantheons, which covered minor deities and other pantheons, and Demihuman Deities, which covered the deities of the demihuman races.
Those three tomes are, in my opinion, invaluable. I highly recommend them to anyone. The books have more history of the deities, their dogma, their manifestations, the orders that follow them, their churches, and their priests. The 3E Faiths & Pantheons was but a pale shadow of the three books it followed. |

By the way, I would assign the title of Touched to a 1st-level and a 2nd-level Cleric, Enstarred to a 3rd and 4th-level Cleric, Moonbathed to a 5th and 6th-level Cleric, and so on. For level 15+, I would have to invent titles ... or use existing ones ... |

Maybe, the following will help you. From AD&D Faiths & Avatars ("the old 2nd edition book"):quote:
Selūnite priests use a wide variety of tiles, but novices (not yet full priests) are always known as the Called, and human females tend to dominate the ranks of the more powerful clergy. Typical Selūnite titles in (ascending order): - Touched
- Enstarred
- Moonbathed
- Silverbrow
- Luna
- Initiate
- High Initiate
All of these titles are followed by "Priestess/Priest". Those titles that follow these in rank tend to begin with "Priestess/Priest of the" and end in some form traditional to the individual temple or shrine the priest is affiliated with.
I do not own Faiths and Pantheons, so, I do not know what you have found and not. |

The OLD 2nd edition book on the gods has ALOT of information about the Deities Heirarchies. Some deities though have No hierarchy. Especially Chaotic Gods. We as players often get trapped into the thinking of the current earth religions. I think only the lawful gods would conform to this way.
Make up your own Heirarchies. That is what I do, it is ultimately more fun to do so anyway.
