Posted - 30 Oct 2005 : 00:09:44 I plan to start a new campaign set in the dales using the adventure "The raiders of Galath's Roost" (Dungeon #87).
If any of you have already run this adventure, I would like to have your comments.

Posted - 24 Dec 2005 : 18:04:33 An Orge is only CR 3. It can be tough but with a right mix of say 5 or 6 1st level PCs, they can handle it.
I was thinking of starting a new campaign based around the module too. The follow up adventure Woe to Misteldale is for 6th or 7th level PC's. I was thinking of some lower level adventures based around the drow raiders before running that one.
Is the Sons of Grummush set in the Moonsea area?
Thanks

Posted - 30 Oct 2005 : 01:08:23 Make sure you let the characters level up before they go through the portal the encounters in the Zhent outpost are alot harder than those at the Galaths Roost
There is also a couple of follow on modules in dungeon magazine Woe to Mistledale and Secrets of the Archwood |

Posted - 30 Oct 2005 : 01:01:10 Just as a side note, if you want them to be Harpers, try this for an introduction. Holfast Harpenshield at the White Hart Inn runs a secret safehouse for the Harpers. If the PCs get to know him well and stay at the White Hart, he may ask them to escort someone he is keeping safe when the Harper contact that was suppose to come for them doesn't show up . . . instant introduction to the organization . . . just a thought. |

Posted - 30 Oct 2005 : 00:55:45 Maybe I should start the campaign at level 2 ? Or found another first-level adventure before this one..
I think the campaign will stay in the dales for a bit, but surely with a trip to the moonsea region (Sons of G. maybe).
I wont have much time to prepare it, so I will probably adapt some old dungeons mag. adventure to FR.
Harper's recruits is probably the way I'll go.. fighting the good-old Zents and others classics of "Ed's realms". |

Posted - 30 Oct 2005 : 00:30:56 Are you planning on keeping them in Mistledale after the adventure? I have found that for a quiet dale there is a ton of adventure hooks there. We have been playing there for a year in real time and two years in the campaign, and its been a great starting place for many things. |

Posted - 30 Oct 2005 : 00:26:19 I've run this. It's a load of fun, but dangerous. I hope your players are the type to know when they're outclassed. There are some tough encounters for low level characters. |
