I was flipping through some of my FR 3-3.5E material and realized that an astonishing amount of ink has been devoted to this organization, including multiple Prc's...
And I haven't used any of it. Nor, for that matter, does anyone in my gaming group seem intrigued by it.
I started to once, but then the campaign imploded and the idea left me.
So my question is, who uses this stuff and are you happy with it? |

That particular pack leader was also mentioned a few times in passing in Ghostwalker, which explains a little about how things fare for the Black Blood in the Moonwood. |

I've used the Black Bloods and other worshipers of Malar as the villians in several encounters in my Daggerdale campaigns. It was a nice change for me, as the DM, to be able to cut loose in 3E games with evil druids backed by allied evil lycanthropes. Made for a nice change of pace. |

I never used them in my long time campaign. Actually I hardly ever used lycanthropes at all. Don't know why but I somehow prefer other shapechangers - doppelgangers, ghaunadans and the like.
As for Anth-Malar: he is stated in an adventure that has him as the end villian. <He is to be found in Dragon #129 as Maruluthu already mentioned. |

He's been in two Dungeon adventures. He's the Chosen of Malar. I don't recall the issue numbers though. |

I've used it once on the mad halfling taking the wrong path, my PCs had to redeem him, find the bestial cult etc. |

I like lycanthropes, but I was not all that exited by the take on them in the 3ed. materials. Maybe it is because I prefer the old Were-gods from 2ed. or maybe it is just that I am suffering from an overdose of organisations and organised groups. |

I have used the black bloods as "bad guys." They are a fun group to use and can be intimidating. |

I have. I had a player that was a druid/rogue that worshiped Meilikki, who wanted to take levels in the Daggerspell Shaper class, and wanted to know if it "existed" in my Realms. I made up an organization on the edge of the Moonwood that was dedicated to Mystra, Lurue, and Meilikki, that had arcane and druidic members, and taught the daggerspell PrCs to those that pledged to aid the Silver Marches.
In order to "pay for" his training, he had to acccept a mission where he tracked down the last member of a pack of People of the Black Blood that had escaped the organization. The Black Blood hunter retreated into the forest, and he had colleted some Black Blood cultist's as followers, and they guarded his hideaway.
They actually made for a good counterpoint to the druid, and one of the recurring villains in the campaign was a Black Blood werewolf druid that was seeking an artifact that the druid knew of, so that he could use it to challenge Anth-Malar to become the Chosen of Malar. He was also challenging the pack leaders of various tribes of Black Blood packs to form a massive pack beholden to him, and packs that had not been assimilated were actually starting to act against him, because they resented his efforts to consolidate power rather than leave the local packs to venerate Malar and hunt as they would.

Never really used it but I think it does have some potential. Still I have to say that it seemed sort of a strange fixation at the early stages of 3.0 . |
