Silverblade The Enchanter
Posted - 19 Aug 2010 : 14:42:01 I've been making digital art for a decade now, mostly due to my love of D&D ;) My fave settings are Dark Sun and Spelljammer, but I also foray into the Realms which is the only setting I manage to get to play in, everywhere else I'm the DM!! lol
So, various Realms or Realms related pics I've made, though I have made lots of "D&D" related ones, I'll stick to the Realmsian ones.
please note, all my apps and content are legitimate, I do a lot of stuff for digital art, been mentioned in art mags and books etc. most of my work is rendered in Vue, odler stuff I made in Bryce, modelling I do in Rhino.
Asked Alaundo about adding to the Candlekeep galleries and hope it's ok to post this :)
Currently I am on a hiatus from art due to long term health problems which that long hard Winter had worsened, and I rarely do requests, sorry :)
quote:Drow Cutlass Drow are just so iconically "Realms" it's hard to seperate them, and Homeland set a wonderful feel for them made this in Rhino, rendered in Maxwell.
quote:Drow Handcrossbow you couldn't fit or fire a normal handcrossbow with a horizontal bow from inside a pocket or cape! try it and see ;) so I decided this shape would work better and be easier to carry, designed a quick load and magazine system for it, too modelled in Rhino, rendered in Vue
Most of my modelling work is on Spelljammer ships. been meaning for ages to make a scene of Waterdeep harbour with a Tradesman or Squidship at the docks ;)
quote:LOST RIVER From the journal scrolls of N'mabo the Elder, Master Boatman, explorer and trader. "We found the lost river on the anniverary of my first wife! Ah, I miss her cooking, but not her tongue, I am though, missing the sweet body of my third wife on this long voyage, but she doesn't like crocodiles much. My long suspicions of a hidden tributory river proved true, but it fed into the Koggo river from an underwater passage, which is why I could never find the blasted thing.
The sorceror who leads this group had an ancient map of bronze tablets, and using the sorceror's magic, we flew over the cliff that seperated these rivers! It was not a tributory, but a massive river all of it's own. It's deep in a winding canyon of massive cliffs. Many strange and terrible beasts are here, some familiar, but larger than usual as well. I have seen dragonflies long as a man's arm before, but not as long AS a man!
Oddly, we came across a hut and canoe, long abandoned...which is strange, surely floods would have swept the canoe away? We have seen no other sign of people, as yet. We continue on...."
Mix of "River World" and Chult in Forgotten Realms, sort of :) Always seen Chult as more "fantastical" a land, from early stuff on it, than it seems to have become. Like, oh, "Caprona" (E R Burroughs) and H R Haggard style.
quote:KROWNHUNTER THE SWORD MAGE In the streets of Waterdeep, Krownhunter the eladrin swordmage encounters a kidnapping in progress, and battle commences!
quote: I, BEHOLDER! Verasek the Creator is a peculiar beholder mage who works with a partner, Djorn the Trapsmith, a dwarf. They usually work building traps, labyrinths, stone golems and such like for rich clients, they are actually good friends and share a passion for craftsmanship and architecture, each complimenting the other. Once in a while, Verasek travels to see Large Luigi, on the Rock of Bral, though no one knows why, well, no one non-Disintegrated, that is...! Note that unlike most beholder mages, he has managed to keep his central eye.
quote:DOCKS OF BRAL The asteroid city of Bral, tumbling thorugh the heavens...in it's evening twilight, the docks softly lit by magic, folk go about their business, but since this is Bral, where spacefarers from many worlds come and go...strange things are oft afoot... A reigar and her lakshu bodyguard, intercept a group of unusual adventurers as they leave thier ship. Reigar, strange, mysterious beings obssessed with art and perfection, crowned by a halo of twinkling stars, she conjurs up a rich treasure thant tinkels and glitters as it falls gently into place!
that's Faerun overhead ;) though not mapped correctly as it should only be 1/4 of the globe not all of it, but hey, it lets you see it really IS thwe Sword coast and sea of fallen stars
quote:RETURN TO BRAL A Squidship arrives back at its home port: Bral!
quote:BATTLE AT FAERUN! The Elven Imperial Navy takes the fight to the N'Shaak neogi clan! The slavers are caught on an attempted raid on the coastal hamlets of the Sea of Fallen Stars. A Hammership loaded with hardened adventurers from Toril aid the elves, ramming one Deathspider!
again, Faerun is overlarge but as said above, it's easier for viewers to SEE that it actually is the Realms that way as most folk don't know Maztica, AlQadim etc
