Posted - 06 Sep 2010 : 14:44:56 Afternoon, fellow scribes!
I've recently been running a bunch of players, all largely new to DnD and all complete Realms virgins, through a fairly lore-slathered game. The focal point of said lore slathering has been the legend of Karsus the Fool, the many deaths and resurrections of the Lady of Magic, and so forth. It's proved to be a pretty handy foundation upon which to gradually build up their realms-lore exposure, and they've all seemed to rather enjoy the steady feed of morsels, be they relevant to bad-guy bashing or otherwise.
As we're nearing the end of the current quest cycle, I was thinking of either starting a new game set in the time of Karsus or giving the players an opportunity to hop through a time-gate to the same effect. Possibly, I could also do the odd 'flashback' adventure where the players take on the roles of their spiritual ancestors around then (they know they have them, sort of, and they might be powerful devils... long story).
What you think? Any ideas? Suggestions? Any games ever been run round then?
Cheers! |

If you want to tie the campaign to Karsus the best option is to download Netheril: Empire of Magic and How the Mighty are Fallen that you can donwload for free in the WoTC website.
You sure those are still available? I can't seem to find them as of late.
