According to the lovely Lady Hooded One, this short story, the first set in the Realms, used to be on the WotC website:

Seriously, Faraer, the links were hosed, possibly due to that same aforementioned formatting weirdness. I had to play with them for a bit to make them work. |

The links I posted do work, despite the formatting weirdness, and I don't know why Alaundo removed them. Try these:
