“One Comes, Unheralded, To Zirta” was published as a chapbook in 2000, as a giveaway at GenCon that year (that was in the days of only one annual GenCon, in Milwaukee). It’s a reprint (with intro by Jeff Grubb) of Ed’s 1987 (very minor) revision of his original Realms story from 1967 or so. This story was available on the WotC website as a free download for some years.
Does anyone know where I might snag a copy of this download? Google hasn't proved helpful... |

Posted - 27 Oct 2004 : 18:54:57 D'oh! And once more, a post is made that nixes something I had posted...
Seriously, Faraer, the links were hosed, possibly due to that same aforementioned formatting weirdness. I had to play with them for a bit to make them work. |

The links I posted do work, despite the formatting weirdness, and I don't know why Alaundo removed them. Try these:
"Heralding Ed Greenwood" "One Comes, Unheralded, to Zirta"
Well met
Ahh, much better, thank ye Faraer |

Posted - 27 Oct 2004 : 18:43:07 Great, as soon as I find the sites, Big Al posts the stuff here.
Not that it matters now, but I figured out the links. I would post them here, but for some reason, they are getting hosed when being posted... |

The story is still accessible via archive.org, and I put the links up on Ed's thread.
Well met
Thank ye, Faraer However, as a couple of scribes pointed out, the links no longer work (those pesky Wizards who dwell on the Coast ).
Worry not, I have made the work of Realmslore available here at Candlekeep (courtesy of Reefy), as part of the latest site update. The scroll can be found here. |

Now that you've had a chance to read through Ed's first tale of the Realms, what do you think?
A little rough and unpolished compared to, say, Elminster's Daughter, but it still has the same sense of fun, the same intrigue and action, the same general flavor as his later stuff. I like. |

Copies have been sent to Wooly and Lysander, as well as one to Alaundo as I don't know if Sage has sent one yet.
Thank you very much!

If we are using the time here at Candlekeep as a basis, I didn't send my copy until 11:33 am. So Reefy, looks like you beat me to it...

I have a copy myself .
If anyone can't reach Reefy soon enough for the details, let me know by the ethereal mail service. I can send you a copy of the file I'm looking at right now, while I'm typing this.
Alaundo, if you want, I can send a copy along to you as well, for safe keeping here at Candlekeep. It's too glorious a treasure to leave floating within the depths of the Silvery Void. It should never have been lost...
Well met
Indeed, Sage, indeed. Please send it over to me and i'll have in included in the latest batch of lore to be released soon |

My apologies, Sage. |

... do you think it might be best to put it up on a site to download at people's demand, much like Kuje31 did with his listing of Ed's answers.
Err... Didn't I just suggest that...
No worries I suppose. It's a fine tale indeed.

Posted - 27 Oct 2004 : 07:22:10 I would be greatly interested in this as well. To try to keep poor Sage, and Reefy, from being inundated with requests, do you think it might be best to put it up on a site to download at people's demand, much like Kuje31 did with his listing of Ed's answers. |

Posted - 27 Oct 2004 : 00:05:22 Well, you could always try a peer to per file sharer, or perhaps several.
I hear good things about Ares, and Limewire. |
