What are the basics of the Lawful Neutral Alignment? How would a typical lawful neutral person act? What would he/she be like? ive searched and searched the internet for info but ive found nothing that answers my questions |

Lawful Neutral would mean that the character considers a code of ethics more important than morality. It's easy to think "Lawful, must like all laws," but you have to remember what the alignment system is based on. One axis of ethics, one axis of morality. A lawful neutral character has a personal code (s)he lives by. It may be that it's the same code as society, or it may include obeying laws to the letter. The point is that there is a code that person follows, right or wrong.
It sounds like a paladin's code, in a way, but the difference is in the morality axis (of course). A paladin will follow his/her code up to the point of making/causing/letting evil happen. A lawful neutral character will be more single-minded. |

One need only look to the modrons... and the LN environment of Mechanus itself to completely understand the scope and meaning of what it is to truly be... Lawful Neutral.

My own views on this:
The Lawful Neutral character believes that organization and structure are the most important element in society. Laws and governance are the glue that bind individual people together into a society, and are what allow that society to exist, perpetuate and prosper.
The morality of individuals is not a primary concern. The LN character knows that some people are good and some are evil, but the vast majority tend to fall somewhere between these two poles. The division of these two polar opposites produces a rough balance which reflects the natural balance of the universe, and both are necessary to maintain that balance.
What IS of paramount importance is the creation of order from chaos, of stability from randomness, of permanence from flux. Creatures need law and order so that they know their place within the society, and know how to interact with the other people within that society. A realm where royalty, nobility, gentry and peasantry are clearly delineated, and one where specific laws are enacted to govern proper behavior and conduct for its peoples is the realization of a LN characters beliefs. A land without laws or an established hierarchy is unnatural to the LN character, and is in contradiction to the natural order of the universe.
Personally speaking, a LN character has a very ordered and regimented mind, and has defined his or her position in the established hierarchy. He knows to whom he is accountable, and who is accountable to him. He need not be satisfied with his current position in the established order, but will work within that order to better his own position in it. The LN character will view his own skills and abilities as an important component in the context of a larger group, be it an adventuring group, a family, a citizen, etc., and will actively seek to perform his functions to the best of his ability. He tends to make long term plans and goals, and generally is adverse to change. He tends to be steadfast in his beliefs (some would say inflexible) and tends to think methodically and logically. The LN character rarely acts on impulse or instinct, and will sort a situation thoroughly before deciding on a course of action.
This, of course, is my own personal interpretation of the Lawful Neutral alignment. YMMV. |

"Lawful Neutral, “Judge”: A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government.
Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot."
