Chosen of Bane Posted - 15 Jul 2006 : 02:45:45
In the Phlan write-up in the 2nd edition Moonsea sourcebook it mentions a group of adventurers that saved Phlan from Tyranthraxus the Great Possessor, and again when Bane sucked Phlan into the “nether-world”.

I am assuming (I could be wrong) that these events, at least the first one happen in the Pools of… series. If I am correct, can somebody please tell me the names of the adventurers who saved Phlan and defeated Tyranthraxus? I mainly need the name of the groups “leader” if there was one, but I would appreciate any and all names that people can provide.

Thanks in advance.

It's a really well done book but I found the Dragonlance Atlas was more useful though as a DM (when I played DL)

I would love to see another "paper" atlas done in the same format with maps of all the cannon places (instead of following novel storylines, ahh the ways when there were less than 30 novels in the product line )

Ren o' the Blade, Shal Bal, and Tarl Desanea are the three *main* heroes who saved Phlan. And yes, the original plot with Tyranthraxus was covered in Pool of Radiance.

I suggest you read through their entries in the Heroes' Lorebook for more on them and their adventures in Phlan. As well, the various entries in the Villain's Lorebook, including the one for Tyranthraxus.

Also if one was able to get ahold of the forgotten realms atlas ( the paper one ), it details the first pools novel, maps and timeline of events.

No, it wasn't just you.

In fact, I often call her Shalla Bal if I'm talking about the NPC itself in discussion.

Shal Bal's name always reminded me of the Silver Surfer's girlfriend . . . but maybe that was just me.
