In D&D Online theres an armour bonus that reduces the Arcane spell failure rate of armour by 10 does Twilight appear in any published source book?

Twilight armor enhancement was found originally in Book of Exalted Deeds and sees a reprint in the duskblade section of the Players Handbook 2. Its a +1 enhancement that reduces arcane spell failure by 10%. I allow it in my campaign as an alternative method for dual-class wizards a means to wear armor.
(i.e. mithril chain shirts with twilight (for most), elven leafweave studded leather armor with twilight, blended quartz full plate with twilight.... note on this last you still have a 5% arcane spell failure chance AND your armor is DOUBLE WEIGHT... i.e. 100 lb suit of armor... you're character better be DAMN strong because even a few points of strength drain will put you trapped in your armor otherwise).

One thing also to note is that when the choice between a chain shirt with twilight or a breastplate with twilight comes up, the obvious answer should be the chain shirt with just another point of enhancement tagged on.
Another thing to note if you're doing this kind of thing and you have some class ability to reduce arcane spell failure (say from spellsword), and lets say you had 10% reduction from the class to give out, you could outfit yourself with a mithril chain shirt +1 of twilight, mithril heavy steel shield +1, and a dastana (from Arms & equipment guide). If you later put greater enhancements on your armor (for instance fortification, death ward, whatever) you can spread them out between your shield, chain shirt and dastana. Now, the dastana's enhancement bonus won't stack with the shield's enhancement bonus, but you could make an animated, axeblock heavy shield +1 and have a dastana +5 with spearblock (gaining a total AC bonus of +2 shield, +1 dastana, +5 enhancement = +8). Cost 25000 (shield) + 49000 (dastana) = 74000. Compare that to a +5 shield with axeblock & animated (note, no spearblock) = 81,000.... and you have even more growth potential still between the two.

Sounds elven. Being able to wear decent armor while spellcasting is such an elf thing. Elves and their obsession with getting what they want and eating their cake too! Oh wait, I think elves are cool. On a serious note, the whole twilight thing makes me think elven so I will check my lost empires and FRCS for more on this subject. I do not have the book of exalted deeds.

Does the Bladesinger class allow characters to cast Arcane spells without an arcane penalty due to armour?

They do once they reach a certain level, and then is is listed only as Light Armor... kinda like alot of the newer Core Classes that allow arcane casters to wear armor.

Twilight Armor also has a brief mention on page 21 of the Players Handbook 2.

yes! the answer finally I looked for an hour this morning, looking up this reference, but ran out of time and had to go to work. I knew I had the sourcebook that referneced this

I'm certain it is also in an Eberron sourcebook as a sidebar.

It seems there was another, 3rd party substance that did the same, it just wasn't balanced. It was in a recent Malhavoc Press book (the big eldritch might one, maybe). I don't own it, but others in the group do, but I haven't looked at it in a year.

If I remember correctly, it was a +2 enhancement and was something like 20% arcane spell failure reduction. or more.

It is indeed located in the Book of Exalted Deeds on page 112, it says that is a favored armor enhancement of the Eladrin spellcasters, it becomes somewhat translucent when donned, and reduces arcane spell failure by -10%. It is possible that it is mentioned elsewhere however I couldn't locate it, though I didn't look in the Eberron material as I don't own any of it.

Yes, but it only starts a bit around 4th or 6th level if I am right. It is something to the tune of 10% to progressively 20% in arcane spell failure nullifying. It might be the song of celerity ability. Come to think of it I think it might only be 15% cumilative. I wish I had my books. Oh, and Bladesingers rock!

I think it was reproduced in a Eberron book, but not sure which one, Secrets of Xen'drik maybe?

Thanks

I thought it must have been in one of the races of X books

It appears after a short seach "Twilight is a +1 armor enhancement that lowers the arcane spell failure by 10%. It's found on page 112 of the Book of Exalted Deeds."
I am sure somebody can check the book to verify.
