Posted - 09 Sep 2010 : 18:11:46 I know this is a greeting area, but wasn't sure where to put an off topic thread. I hope the mods allow me this. I know you people don't know me very well, but I can tell you that I've been headbutting my doctors for a long time now. I'm 25 years old, and I can barely walk. I have a huge tumor eating my pelvis, and while alot of doctors stated that I will need a hip replacement eventually, none were willing to do it citing that I'm too young, and I'll need another one eventally. This has caused me unstoping constant physical pain where I'm usually pretty dopped up on painkillers. The latest rounds of xrays and mri's have shown even more rapid arthritis growth, that the doctor finally greenlighted it. In a month, I'm going to have the preop meeting. Then I'll soon get my hip replaced. I'm very excited to finally be able to walk again, and work again, and do stuff rather then lay down in pain crying like a little baby. |

Posted - 09 Sep 2010 : 21:40:54 Regardless if this is the right place to post such a personal message: wow, great news! I know what it is to live with arthritis at such a relatively young age, as I have a "version" of that chronic disease myself. There is some powerful - and sadly extremely costly - medicine available for people suffering from arthritis and related diseases. Maybe it's too imprudent of my to ask, but aren't you a legible patient for such medication or have your doctors considered all the options regarding medication?
Good luck with the surgery and hopefully you'll walk again soon as is proper for people at our - are any, actually -age. |
