I was hoping to contact anyone who might be willing to do some freelance work on a fantasy city map...this is a negotiable paid position.

If you are confident in your skills, please contact me by PM; and this is an open call!

Quick note...I'm actually leaning more toward black and white...I'd gladly do a color; but black and white would be easier for me to modify in the future if needed.

Thanks Kentinal.

Essentially, I wanted to see if there was even anyone available that had time...but you are right, lets get out a few details:

The City is called Vhaelin, a map of the Principality of Valinor can be found here:

http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/world-of-aerk/maps/show/17982

A link to general information about the city itself can be found here:

http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/world-of-aerk/wikis/vhaelin

EDIT: the pic with that page is not what the city looks like...I just use it to give a bit of an idea to my players.

Particulars were going to be disclosed to the person making the map for me; but some basics are:

Vhaelin is a city of canals and common roads. The canals are ancient, and are creations of old magic that carved them from the ground that allows the Crystal River to flow through the city in various places. The city has many bridges.

It is a heavily fortified city; and actually has three major strongholds within it (The King's Castle, the Prince's Castle, and the River Palace).

It is in an area of heavy farmlands...none of these farms are within a mile of the city however (the area around the city is used by the King's Guard for the grazing of horses primarily); and very few other structures stand outside the city walls within that area either.

There are some gentle rises in the city as it approaches the coast, the King's own castle sits atop one of these; and the canals empty over waterfalls into the White Bay. Most "Cliff Estates" are held by noble estates; though the White Ward (home of the city "high tombs") are also to be found here.

The city is divided into numerous wards (15 of them, in addition to the King's Quarter, the Prince's Quarter, and the Religious Ward). The wards do not have their own walls, and in fact some of the wards exist on either side of the Old City Walls.

There is one Outer City Wall, a Second Inner City Wall, and a third Old City Wall. In addition, the Black Market has a minor wall around it, as do the Temples of Vhal (each is a fortified structure), and a series of low "Patrol Walls" around the various merchant runs of the Great Market of Vhaelin. These "Walls" are in fact simply narrow walls wide enough only for one patrolman to walk around with railing to either side and not truly fortified...being only about ten feet in height they allow guards to have a better view of the goings on in the Great Market, and the various gates can be closed to make it easier to control crowds.

I do indeed have a rough sketch map of the city...but it is of poor quality. I am no map maker truly...though I have good ideas I just can't get them on paper.

Thanks again!

It might help the call if you indicated size of city. 5,000 to 50,000 residents, fortified, etc. ?

I might be interested and have some time for a small project, if a larger one you might get interest from some that decide project too large.
Oh a deadline?

Just ideas that might save some time.
