Can anyone out there give me any insight on how the caster level and gp value of the three Rings of Spell Storing in the DMG were calculated?

Check out page 285 in the DMG. Ring of spellstoring has caster level 9. Imbue with spell ability is a fourth level spell. I'd say spell storing is a use-activiated ability. This gives us 4 x 9 x 2000 gp = 72000 gp. Now, a ring of spell storing needs recharging, so the price should be lowered. To, say, 50000 gp.
