Posted - 25 Apr 2014 : 16:32:49 Farideh is a chosen of Azmodan so much has been confirmed but through all of Brimstone Angels Selune played not so small a role she maybe even once spoke to Farideh directly.
We know for a while now that both Mielikki and Lolth were interested in Drizzt as a chosen, now could a god contest anothers chosen?
Azmodan is a fairly new God while Selune is one of oldest of Toril after all and Faridehs story has always been for a part about her Soul. |

Although his personality did become somewhat darker in the Neverwinter books I would still find it hard to believe that Drizzt represented anything that Lolth also did. He's chaotic, yes, but no more so than any other surface elf. So therefore, could an opposed god attempt to invest power into a Chosen of an enemy god in order to attempt to corrupt them?
Lolth, being the deity of Drow and Chaos likely receives some form of power from Drizzt's actions. I'd hazard to guess it would be alot more if he actually worshipped her. The whole Drizzt and Lolth issue reminds me of the temptation and fall of Anakin Skywalker. She's trying to bring him to the dark side, but so far it hasn't worked. |

I think the reason behind this reasoning is because Drizzt sows chaos among Lolth worshippers. IF my memory servers me correctly its even stated in some book. *Summons BEAST!*
That line of thought brings me to a point where one must ask: Is there there been some other chosen who is not acting as god teaches, but otherwise furthers deitys agenda?
That's right that was the reasoning by which they thought Drizzt might be a chosen of Lolth.
Cadderly kinda was a reluctant chosen, he didn't really believe in Deinier his nature was simply aligned with Deiniers ideals.
Thanks for the answers so far. Farideh looks for absolution and that's kinda hard to achieve as a chosen of Azmodan. |

Posted - 27 Apr 2014 : 19:22:13 -Qilue was a Chosen of both Mystra and Eilistraee. Queen Amlauril and her daughter were a Chosen of the entire Seldarine. Eldath, Mielikki and Silvanus all shared Chosen as well. So, deities can share Chosen if everyone involved is fine with sharing.
-Can a deity stop another deity from investing some of their power into a normal mortal to make them a Chosen? Probably not, as their divine energy is theirs to do with as they want. Can a deity stop another deity from investing some of their power into a mortal that a worshiper of another deity? I would say so, yes, as their soul/spirit is already pledged to that deity, for the time being- plus, it wouldn't make sense for, say, Lolth to randomly be able to invest her powers into Qilue, for instance, who stands for everything Lolth does not. Can a deity stop another deity from investing some of their power into a mortal that was a worshiper of another deity? That one, I would say no. If a mortal changes what deity they worship, the special relationship between the deity and the mortal is gone (or, at least, is dormant until they return to the faith).
-So, as I am understanding the question having not read any of the books involved or knowing any of the characters, Asmodeus should be able to invest his powers in Farideh, despite her possibly being a Selunite in the past.
