Can someone explain how do I play with a party entirely created by me? I found this somewhere:

"I created this party in multi-player and then imported it in single play, you just need to copy-paste a saved game from the MPSave directory into the Save directory to switch a saved game from multi-player to single player."

I don't get this. I go to multi-player and what then? There is CONNECT and PRE-GENERATE CHARACTER option. Which do I choose? I tried to create a party in PRE-GENERATE CHARACTER but there is only import and export option when I finish creating my character. I also tried to import a character in single play, but without success.

I must admit to not being the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to PC's and software. I have just got Baldurs gate (5disc set) and just cannot get to create a 6 party game to play myself. I have tried every combination of buttons, but every time |i create a party and have to log out, I just can't find the party I have just created. Tried following your suggestions here also but no luck.

Also the cheat codes (shame on me) don't appear to wok, even though I have followed the steps, of adding the line cheats=1 in the game options of the Baldur.ini file. I keep getting the message Error file xxxx does not exist.
It's a real shame, must be the best game i've ever come across up to now, but it's damned hard for a novice like me (6 yr olds can beat me at any pc game). Still, musn't grumble.....another couple of years and I might gain a level!

Press:
Connect
choose serial as your connection
create a game

using that way again you activate that again and load your game.

PROFICIENCES
BASE THACO: 12
THACO: 9

Does this mean that this NPC has THACO 21? And what is THACO exactly and is it cumulative with dexterity?

Your thac0 is 12 but stats, items and so on improve it to 9. In simple terms it relates to how likely it is to hit your enemy, and you want as low a number as possible.

quote:
NUMBER OF ATTACKS: 3

What does this mean? Does it mean that you strike your opponent in one round 3 times instead of just once?

Yes.

quote:
LORE: 13

I guess that LORE is only important for identifying.

Yes.

quote:
ABILITY BONUSES
TO HIT: +2

Is this ability cumulative with THACO and dexterity?

This will already be taken into account in the thac0/base thac0 bit above.

quote:
MISSILE ADJUSTMENT: +3

Does this adjustment increase your chance to hit someone with missile weapons?

Yes, IIRC it is the adjustment your Dexterity makes to your thac0 with ranged weapons.

quote:
REACTION: +3

Is REACTION cumulative with charisma?

It is determined by Charisma.

True, but there are enough people who have played that game that coming here was a good bet.

Now I know how to play with 6 PCs in a single play: you just need to press TCP/IP instead of MODEM. Sorry guys. As for other inquiries any explanation would be appreciated.

So, will you move it there or should I start a new topic?

I, personally, can not do it. We each have sections, and this is not one of mine.

You can start a new one if you wish, or you can wait and either Kuje or Big Al will likely come along and relocate this one. Your choice.
