Does anyone know if it's still possible to get hold of BG1 (with Tales of the Sword Coast) in any UK shops still? I feel like playing it again, but my old copies are all scratched and I spent all day looking for it in Norwich yesterday (fair sized city) with no luck at all.

Has anyone seen it, especially the one disk edition, in the shops recently?

I dont think they are that big, dont forget this was a long time ago when you couldnt get nearly as much information on a CD as you can now. Also I am pretty sure there is no way you can install that edition without having to change discs, though to be honest you dont have to change them very often, it's just the possibility that it might not work that bothers me.

That's a good idea. I will wait and see if the 6 disc edition works, though I would still like the smaller version even if it does because changing discs all the time in annoying. I dont see why it wouldnt, either, it's just that it's so old. I dont see why it's not still in production, there must be a whole new generation of people who havent played it by now.

Depending on how the program is set up, you may be able to copy the contents of each CD to your hard drive, which would prevent having to swap CDs. I'm not familiar with the game, though, so I can't guarantee it would work. And 6 CDs can take up a lot of room -- 4.2 GB, if they're all full.

Yeah, I had a three (?) disk edition that had Tales of the Sword Coast on it that I had purchased at EB Games, which I bought becuase I wanted Tales of the Sword Coast and I couldn't find it separately. Unfortunately I gave away my other copy to a friend once I got my Tales of the Sword coast version one.

There was a copy of the original Baldur's Gate for free in an issue of PC Gamer from last year, the D&D CRPG issue, but you have to get the DVD edition version of the magazine. You might google PC Gamer back issues and see if anyone has it for sale.

Yeah, I've bought the 6 disc edition on ebay but I'm not sure if it will work on my comp. I havent seen the one disk edition turn up yet.

I don't see why they wouldn't... English is English, and if your computer meets the hardware requirements, it should work.

I've installed Japanese programs on my computer with no problem...

If you can't find it in a shop, I see it pop up on eBay rather frequently.
