What is going on there in 1372-1374 DR?

Is it a ruin, a bustling city or ??? parhaps a haven for sex offenders???

WotC has since taken down (or more likely relocated) the older free pdfs they had available.

And of course, "Winterkeep" is old TSR code for "Ed's house." :}
(As in: the Muskoka cottage certain TSR employees visited, back in the day, was his sometime summer residence, but in winter, no one can get to it - - as it's water access only, on a closed-down, half-drained and frozen-over waterway - - so Ed would be at his home, "Winterkeep."_
Ed created Winterkeep in the Realms, of course, and has some VERY intriguing unpublished lore about it up his sleeve. For now.
