Who once helped hide Laeral while she was being cured of the effects of the Crown of Horns?

A sourcebook. I don't think anything about the Crown of Horns has appeared in any novels, save for a passing reference in Elfsong.

                      | Probably a source with the word 'seven' in the title.
Although one of those 'Khelben Flashbacks' in Blackstaff may have contained something pertaining to this - I recall at least one Laeral-with-crown memory popping up at some point (without my sourcebooks, I feel naked).

Also, I remember a little something about the group she was a member of when she donned the Crown in The North material as well...

Good Question though, it rings a bell but thats about it for me.

I thought the same. I am picturing a conversation in the Blackstaff where Mirt is involved (I believe), that pertained to her recovering from the crown of horns. Additionally, I looked through seven sisters and it has quite a bit of information, but a no go so far. I looked through many others, but apparently I am missing the source or have just not found it yet. this is a good one Wooley

This character has only been referenced in a couple of sourcebooks. The Laeral reference is only in one of them. And it's not in one so obvious as Seven Sisters. Remember, I was deliberately looking for something obscure.

I'll go ahead and toss out a minor hint, though. Check a little closer to home.

And that's not my official, 24-hour hint. This one is just to help narrow down the search.

                      | I think Khelben has been referenced in more than "a couple of sourcebooks." |
                      | There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist.

                      | Nope, not Khelben (too obvious!). And by checking closer to home, I meant the sourcebook itself. |

                      | Okay, it has now been more than 24 hours... Here is my hint:
Hint: This retired Waterdhavian guard was once an adventuring companion of Khelben. You won't find him in Waterdeep, but you can find him somewhere else in the North.

Nope. This guy is only a 3rd level fighter.

There are actually two clues in my official hint.

                      | The answer is: Briiathor Alougarr, the Lord Warder of Amphail (Volo's Guide to the North, pgs.217-218).

 My question is:

What was lost when Gorlaung "Blackhelm" was slain?

Krash got it! That question was more of a stumper than I anticipated... But now that it is answered, I want to go back and explain my semi-hidden clue. I said "You won't find him in Waterdeep, but you can find him somewhere else in the North." And that was actually a hint on where to look -- not in Volo's Guide to Waterdeep, but in Volo's Guide to the North.

                      | That could be useful.
I'd also recommend that a scribe wait for his answer to a question to be confirmed by the scribe asking the question, before they post one of their own. It could become confusing, should the answering scribe have posted an answer that was actually incorrect.

                      | Good call on not assuming your answer is correct, Sage. Mea culpa.
And yes, Fillow is correct - it is indeed the shield known as "Shoon's Buckler".

I so, so miss Ed's articles on spellbooks and magic items in the Realms. They were always so astoundingly fabulous.

I totally agree The Sage. But :

We may wait for The original poster confirmation... no ?

Nope, you don't have to wait for the original person to confirm it.

I suggest the rules are changed to insert the confirmation of the answer.

Loved Sage, what do you think of my other proposal ?
 - What about listing the questions which have been asked along the trivia challenge ? I'm allright to list them but... where could I post them ?

 And I've a new one :
 - What about a ranking of the "answerers" ? (1 answer = 1 point)

And the current question is :
Who was in fact Kaldair, the one who fought Vaprak the Destroyer ?

I am a French FR fan, so please forgive my lapses in English language and do not hesitate to correct me. Thanks a lot.

                      | The reason I had suggested not waiting was to keep things going. After all, if you can answer a question with the page reference, it's pretty safe to assume it's right. And sometimes the original poster winds up not coming back to confirm it for a while. I just want to keep things flowing, and to keep it from getting bogged down. |
