I've been reading Forgotten Realms books for a good...probably 8 years now, and delighted to find these forums! Not sure how I didn't find this before...but looking forward to discussing these books with you all! (Note: I admit I was a little miffed that "Elminster Aumar" was an incorrect answer in registration >.> had me very confused...)

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

Hello and welcome to you.

Ken: You from the States?
Jimmy: Yeah. But don't hold it against me.
Ken: I'll try not to... Just try not to say anything too loud or crass.

Greetings to you Elmara, and welcome to Candlekeep.

Here you will find many curious questions pertaining to the extensive Realmslore of the FR setting. As well, you will also discover many fantastic answers -- some of which have even been generously provided by the Great Sages of the Realms themselves.

So please, take a look around. If you feel the need to ask a question, or to merely discuss some element of the Realmslore, then simply find the appropriate place or shelf within the library and open a scroll. One of our many knowledgeable scribes, the dedicated staff of Candlekeep, or even a visitor to these halls, will always be happy to assist you in learning more about the Realms.

See you in the library.

Well, if you take a look at the Chamber of Sages, you're sure to see a variety of scrolls dedicated to questions for some of the greats among the Lore Lords of the Realms.

"These things also I have observed: that knowledge of our world is
to be nurtured like a precious flower, for it is the most precious
thing we have. Wherefore guard the word written and heed
words unwritten and set them down ere they fade . . . Learn
then, well, the arts of reading, writing, and listening true, and they
will lead you to the greatest art of all: understanding."
