Is it just me or is Thomas M. Reid getting the shaft from Wizards? First of all, the only notice that the release date was moved up to July for The Crystal Mountain was in the back of City of the Dead. There was no announcement on the web site, and even now the headline release for the month is the paperback of The Pirate King. Although I've only read two of his novels thus far I've enjoyed them, and I've read great reviews regarding the novels I haven't gotten to yet. I think he's one of the top authors of the current realms, and it just seems to me that he's getting no respect for this release. Ok, I'm done ranting now. Keep up the good work Mr. Reid.

I agree, Mr. Reid is a great author. I'm not sure they're really messing with him or anythinge. The release date for this novel has moved several times I believe. In Gossamer Plain, the date was mid-2009. Then in Fractured Sky, it went to Nov 09. The release date then completly disappeared at one point, before going back to mid-2009(july).

I believe it's more a case of finding the perfect spot for this novel, rather than messing with Mr. Reid. They probably did not want it in November since it's right after Salvatore's novel and that could definitly affect the sales of Crystal Mountain.

I agree that they're not purposely sabotaging Reid. That would be counterproductive. It just seems like crazy marketing, or a lack thereof. How do they expect to sell a novel if no one knows it's been released? With the work Reid has done up to this point I just think he deserves more attention.
