Hello there. I've registered my account quite a while ago, while I was in my infant stages as a roleplayer. I did finish the Neverwinter Nights computer game several years ago, but at that time Nasher Alagondar to me was just a stern man with a funny moustache. Oh, and the ruler over Neverwinter, obviously... That changed three years ago, when my girlfriend eagerly introduced me to the Forgotten Realms and tabletop roleplaying in general.

At the moment I'm a player in a group which consist of an all elven party frolicking around on Evermeet. I also am the DM of another group which is currently fighting evil in Thesk and surroundings. For a DM, Candlekeep is an invaluable resource. For example, the contributions by George Krashos in the first Candlekeep Compendium and in various scrolls were very helpful for the campaign I'm currently running!

In both groups we play using the 3.5 edition rules and FR lore. While I don't have anything against the game mechanics of 4th edition D&D (from what I've read though, didn't play it), I don't like what they did to the Forgotten Realms, for example to justify the new magic system or the cleanup of the pantheon for new players.

Sadly I haven't read that many FR novels (only "Evermeet" and The Avatar Series), something I'd like to change very soon.

Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate to know that for destruction ice is also great and would suffice. – Robert Frost (1874 - 1963)

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
