Alright, so I've pretty much have 2 ideas in my head at the moment.

1) First off, does anyone actually make characters that are much - if any bit - like yourself? Granted, I'd think some semblance of relation would need to be present to have at least some fascination with roleplaying in D&D, let alone the Realms.

2) If I were to make a Realms character based on myself, could anyone help me? I've done various online quizzes, and this between those and what I know of myself in reality, here's what I have, personality and ability-wise.
- a bit tougher than I look
- fascination with crafting things more functional then artistic
- reverence of earthy natural settings, be it cavernous or arboreal/wooded
- passionate, flirtatious, and caring towards women, but reserved and cautious around people in general
- tries to be caring and protective of friend & family
- rather predictable, but occasionally prone to amazing surprises
- generous but also tending to pool resources for further use/donation after my own needs are met
- prone to overdoing in various tasks, either ending up off my action or causing astounding results; in combat, I could just as easily miss an opponent as cause grieveous injury
- as far as combat is concerned, I usually work best by exploiting enemy weaknesses from the front
- somewhat absent-minded; capable of decent insight but may find social situations somewhat awkward
- been described as a potential nurturer and leader
- skilled writer, natural fighter, and all-around everyman; somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades
- not the most skilled singer/performer, but somewhat talented in acting, practicing words/phrases/quotes endlessly when alone and
- can be moody, but can use my emotions to aid my progress in a trying situation

Overall, I think I'd probably be best chalked down in 4th Edition to a (Shield) Dwarf Paladin with the Bard multiclass feat, or an Ardent or Battlemind (PHB3), maybe multiclassed into Paladin. 3.X Edition, either a Shield Dwarf or Half-Elf Bard probably multiclassed into either Fighter or Ranger, or even Barbarian.

Pardon if the second part is rather lengthy, but I've always been trying to find a measure of myself through the Realms and D&D in general.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, these would be my reflective character's reasons to adventure:
- thirst for knowledge and experience
- pushed into heroism in dire times
- a desire to help others in trouble
- to make a decent name for myself to mask hidden shame/disappointment

Too chaotic to be any Paladin, Druid or Bard appears far better.

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards."
"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

Funny you should mention that Galuf cuz our current Realms campaign is an Avatar campaign. If you don't know what that is, it's a campaign in which "yourself" is transposed/teleported into the D&D game and your done up with stats and class levels.

Our group started with the 3.x mechanics and we did a 30-point buy for our abilities, however, we went around the table and gave each other stats (based on majority rules). So, for example, when it was my turn I asked them if the could keep me in the area of a martial class (fighter, crusader, Paladin, etc) and they told me I wasn't militant enough for a fighter and not zealot enough for a paladin/crusader so they made me a Knight. In RL I'm 6'3", 280 lbs so it made sense that I'd be the party's tank (which I had no problem with). For stats, I got a Str 16, Dex 11, Con 13, Int 10, Wis 12, and Cha 14 which isn't bad for a Knight.

All said and done, our party was very typical (cleric, wizard, rogue, knight, warlock, and two more fighters). The game evolved as we advanced in character levels and we finally switched over to 4E a little over a year ago.

So if your interested in trying to stat our yourself, I'd suggest getting your friends advise and help in creating your character because they may see a side of you that you don't see yourself.
