Heh, I just noticed my status changed. When exactly did it change? And what's the difference between a Senior Scribe and a Master of Realmslore? Are there some sort of privileges?

Site administration staff, as I mentioned above. There are other special titles also, like George Krashos remaining as a Master of Realmslore even though he's past 2,000 posts. That was at his request. And, of course, there is the Lady Herald of Realmslore, which is a Candlekeep-only title bestowed upon the always lovely and bountiful 'The Hooded One,' who relays questions and answers back and forth between the scribes of Candlekeep and Ed Greenwood. But that's about it.

Ah, you passed the 1000 post mark! Congrats.

"These things also I have observed: that knowledge of our world is
to be nurtured like a precious flower, for it is the most precious

words unwritten and set them down ere they fade . . . Learn
then, well, the arts of reading, writing, and listening true, and they
will lead you to the greatest art of all: understanding."

A peek at the Candlekeep Members List is very revealing. Click on Title (once or twice) to sort the list by member titles in descending order. Alternately, click on Posts (once or twice) to sort the list by total posts in descending order. All the interesting stuff is found on the first few (of currently 232) pages.

An immediately obvious (and suspicious) anomaly is a member named Nighteyes who has accumulated some 8 posts (as of 08 Jun 2003) and bears the indecipherable hacked-looking title Megilindir Val’istar. Other inexplicable titles are Fellaren-Krae Co-ordinator (LucianBarasu, an interesting if enigmatic fellow), Candlekeep Inn Waitress (Kiarin DAleshan, a feisty lass), and Boy of the West (Monus, a mysterious 20-21y old male human from the USA with 0 posts).

Special titles are:

Webmaster (Candlekeep Webmaster, Moderator)
Moderator (Tethtoril, Moderator)
Master of Realmslore (George Krashos)
Master of Mischief (Wooly Rupert, Moderator)
Loremaster Most High (The Sage, Moderator)
Lady Herald of Realmslore (The Hooded One)
Head Moderator (Alaundo, Site Admin)
Forum Admin (Admin)
Forgotten Realms Game Designer (3)
Forgotten Realms Game Designer & Author (4)
Forgotten Realms Designer (7)
Forgotten Realms Author & Game Designer (1)
Forgotten Realms Author (25)
Forgotten Realms Artist (1)

I am curious ... why does Candlekeep bother to maintain records of scribes who signed on years ago and have contributed 0 posts?

That's mostly due to the fact that we simply haven't purged the User Registry of non-active accounts. Once the update for Candlekeep 2 rolls around though, we'll likely remove all those long-absent scribes.

Of course. Feel free to send them to me via PM, and we'll discuss it further.
