By the way, the campaign with the PC's and Mel right now is spring 1383 DR. The Shadowvar have increasingly raided the outskirts of northern Cormyr. Sir Ivan already received upgraded gear for himself and every Purple Dragon under his command.

Cool! I had this concept of a novel about Sir Ivan (as the protagonist) that had him fighting off the evils of the Shades - but from the perspective of air-born fighter jet warfare. The likes we see now in movies like Top-Gun, Stealth, Iron Eagle, etc. Obviously he'd be fighting from a Pegasus, but doing aerial maneuvers to shoot down (via Arrows/magic items) Shade enemies and maybe even some close encounters with Zhentarim Sky-mages.

I'm glad he got himself and his troops some gear. Maybe have Scyulla Darkhope's sword mounted as some sort of trophy or her armor (both of which, he got after defeating her).

Been a while since I posted a new NPC. I was reading up on how different editions did their Bear Warriors and I realized that I had actually never made one in our 3.5 days. So, to see one in "full action" and to play with a bunch of the later splat-books, I created this guy. Also, he might see some time in our long-running Cormyr/Shadowdale/Anauroch adventure that concluded earlier this year and now sights are set on Rasheman. Anyways, enjoy!

Bear Form (Su): When Demyan enters his rage, he can assume the form of a black or brown bear. While changed, he retains the rage’s +2 bonus to Will saves and -2 penalty to AC. When changed into a black bear, he gains a +8 bonus to Strength, a +2 bonus to Dexterity, and a +4 bonus to Constitution. When changed into a brown bear, Demyan gains a +16 bonus to Strength and a +2 bonus to Dexterity, and a +8 bonus to Constitution.
Feral Trance (Su): Twice per day Demyan can enter a feral battle trance. While in this trance, his feet and hands become claw-like and his teeth lengthen and grow pointed. For the duration, he gains a +4 bonus to Dexterity and a +2 bonus on damage rolls with his unarmed strikes. He can also make one bite attack per round at his highest base attack bonus as part of a full-round action. The bite deals 1d6 + your Str modifier, regardless of size. This trance lasts
for a number of rounds equal to 3 + his Constitution modifier.
Improved Grab (Ex): When Demyan successfully hits with a claw or bite attack, he may start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Morphic Body (Su): Demyan uses precise control over his bear form and as such, gains +4 to his Strength and Constitution scores.
Morphic Healing (Su): Demyan gains fast healing 2 as he uses his bear form to change and smooth over his skin where wounds appear. If Demyan takes full-round action and succeeds on a Concentration check (DC equals total damage he’s sustained), he heals 10
points of damage.
Morphic Reach (Su): Demyan can suddenly stretch his limbs, neck, or other appendages outward, giving him 5 more feet of reach than the creature he is emulating.
Primal Living (Ex): To maintain his primal powers, Demyan lives like a wild animal for most of his life. He does not sleep indoors and almost always hunts and scavenges for food. Failure for not adhering to this taboo more than three times in a month’s span results in a loss of his powers until he spends one month in the wilderness.
Rage (Ex): Four times per day, Demyan can fly into a rage on his turn as a free action. While raging, Demyan gains a +4 bonus to his Strength and Constitution, and a +2 morale bonus to his Will saves, but takes a -2 penalty to his Armor Class. The increase in Constitution increases Demyan’s hit points by 2 points per level, but these go away at the end of the rage when his Constitution score drops back to normal. The rage lasts for a number of rounds equal to 3 + his newly improved Constitution modifier.

Below are changes to Demyan’s statistics when entering his brown bear rage and utilizing his feral trance features:

Large animal (shapechanger)
hp 279 (16 HD); fast healing 2

As I'm getting back into Warhammer, I've always been intrigued by the lore and just overall characters of that universe. So I had wondered what mayhem and horror might be unleashed unto the Realms if someone had made their way through the Warp and onto Faerûn? Well, here's what that might look like:

FHAZA SHADOWSPAWN          Level 14 Elite Soldier (Leader)
Medium aberrant humanoid         XP 2000
Initiative +13; Senses Perception +12
HP 276; Bloodied 138; see also unstoppable
AC 30; Fortitude 27, Reflexes 25, Will 26
Saves +2; see also unstoppable
Resist necrotic 10
Speed Speed 7
Action Points 1

Fhaza Shadowspawn makes two maul of terror attacks.

HISTORY
In the frozen wastes of Norsca, the bloodthirsty Warlord Fhaza embarked on a journey of conquest, slaughter, and war against all who stood in her path. First it was other Northmen tribes. Then the greenskins. Then, across the sea, it was the weak Brettonians and their pathetic allies, elves and dwarves. Still, Fhaza fought them all with wonton glee as the bodies piled high.

It was in the year 2241 of the Imperium Calendar that she saw her first defeat, then another, and then another as some of her allies and troops started to abandon her warpath. Resounding defeats pushed her back across the sea to Norsca, and even to the very gates of Chaos. Here, she pleaded with Khorne - her dark God of War - for the ultimate power to defeat her enemies once and for all! Yet some foul elven sorcery corrupted the plea, opening an otherworldly portal which scattered her remaining troops and her along with it. In the seemingly endless void of interdimensional space, they were sucked into the black nothingness and lost to the Old World forever.

- 13th of Marpenoth, 1498 (Year of the Black Regalia) An audible boom of air erupts over the usually quiet woods of the northern High Forest. The trees surrounding the sound are blasted down flat as a strange portal opens into Realmspace. One figure is flung from the portal, hitting the ground with enough force to create a large 30 yard trail in the grass and dirt. The portal closed as quickly as it opened and the dark figure stood. Fhaza Shadowspawn has survived. Her gaze takes in the surroundings and she notices a collection of caves nearby in what the locals call the Nether Mountains.

- 27th of Marpenoth, 1498 (Year of Black Regalia) Nearly 14 of this world's "days" have passed and from the caves and shadows of the Nether Mountains emerge a strong force of orc and goblins. The time of year, this close to winter, usually sees these creatures take shelter in the mountains to breed and conserve their food stores. But not now, not when the Warlord has come. The orcs and goblinoids - or as she calls them "greenskins" - are prepared for war and they march. Their banner flies high in the faltering sunlight, a blackened banner with a bloody red 8-pointed star!

Appearance
Fhaza is an immensely large women with an augmented physique, a gift from her dark god Khorne. Her face, when not wearing her horned and spiked great-helm, is covered in battle scars. She has red hair, shaved down to her scalp on one end while the other is cropped just below her ear. Her skin is covered in ritual scarring, tattoos of sigils to Chaos and Khorne. Her armor is covered in spikes and has grotesque faces that contort on the armor's surface, howling with glee when battle unfolds. When Fhaza starts to feel outnumbered, she will enact the plate's property (push all adjacent enemies 3 squares).
