Hail all scholars,

as a small-time DnD player and aspiring DM of the 4e games, I registered here to pick up some more of the living Realms (the ideas and experiences of FR players) instead of only focusing on the lore as written.

I love creating characters and campaign backgrounds firmly rooted within canonical lore, mainly focusing on 4e. I create campaign backgrounds the way I see the editors of 4e do this; it doesn't necessarily need to be in accordance with previous editions, it needs to be there. Using holes within existing 4e lore, I like to edit my own lore into them - but only if it seems plausible to me.

All in all I'm a fan of incorporating (small) homebrew elements into 4e FR gameplay (not entirely without need imo) as an addition to existing lore and fluff, whether this is for playing characters or DMing.

So that's it basically. Hope to pick up some interesting ideas and views on FR in general and FR 4e specifically.

Till we meet again (:

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
