It's loosely based after the end of the novel, but is just a TINY part of the Mod.
I came up with the Undermountain idea the second day Neverwinter Nights 1 was released.
I was SHOCKED at how Biowares second expansion pack kinda copied my mod.. at least to a point.

The Mod has everything. Custom Tiles, Weapons, Placeables, (Many I made)
I also made a R.A.T.S. system which was seen in the old SSI Game "Eye of the Beholder" and yep,
That is a quick way to get from level to level.

Besides Halaster, you will visit Skullport, meet Malar worshippers, Red Wizards, the Cult of the Dragon, Xanathar's Thieves guild, and all the other major factions.

Each level of Undermountain is PACKED full of unique mazes and secret areas, and you'll get hooked if you give it an hour of playing. :)

So far, Undermountain has 15 massive levels, and nearly every level has breakaway levels from the main ones. Some have up to 6 break away levels!

You start out in the Yawning Portal Inn. Speak with Durnan, he'll get you started. New players will also be leveled up to 7, and given some gold to get you started. Because Undermountain is a very tough Dungeon. Some Dragons have over 5000hps!

--

Besides going into Undermountain, you can leave the Yawning Portal Inn, and if you look above the door outside of the Yawning Portal Inn, you'll see the iconic sign which I made a 3D model of and drew to match the sign that appears of the cover of the WATERDEEP novel (third book in the Avatar Trilogy). :)

Once outside of the Inn, you can run around Waterdeep, visit a few shops, do some quests and venture out on a ship to the haunted isle, or walk out the main gates of Waterdeep and take the Tradeway to the Trollbark Forest and the Trollmoors and more!!
I tried to keep everything in line with the Forgotten Realms canon. The Date is 1374 DR.

Loads of Humor in the Mod. LOADS of inside jokes from the FR Novels.. You should love it. I really put the last 9 years into it, and I still am! (Just finishing up redesigning the Escape From Undermountain (EFU) website, which explains what you'll need to get into the server:

=============================
All you need is:
=============================

Neverwinter Nights 1
Both Expansion packs (SOU and HOTU)
The CEP Pack (latest version or an earlier version (v1.53) is fine too)
and MY 'Massive v1.03' Hakpak files. (These are filled with my own custom models, tiles and other great designs from the best of the best on the Vault. The Authors are all listed in the hakpak.)

Here is the EFU Website:

I also Run ironworksforum, and have a forum for EFU at:

I hope some of you come and check it out, I put hundreds of hours over the last 9 years into it, trying to make it
have the atmosphere of being 'occupied' and alive. I've noticed many mods seen barren and you feel like you're alone
in a huge city.

One Hint. Monks and Thieves with LOVE the Mod the most.. due to the traps (Disarming any trap earns you XP) and Monks will find some impressive equipment to kick some butt with! :)

If you check it out, post a reply here and let me know how you liked it.

Thanks guys, been a lurker on Candlekeep for many years and its such an amazing wealth of FR Information!

Glad to have you aboard, Ziroc.
Seems like I'll have to dust off my copy of NWN 1.

One usually has far more to fear from the soft-spoken wizard with a blade and well-worn boots than from the boisterous one in the ivory tower.

Good to hear some people are still creating for that. I remember my creation of Zhentil Keep for a server I hosted about 8 years ago. I spent a lot of time with the Ruins of Zhentil Keep boxed set and the NWN1 tools.
Might try to take a look at your UM sometime.
