A longtime lurker, brand new member, just stepping in to say hello!
The Realms has been my other-world since the age of twelve (I am now thirty-seven), and I couldn't imagine my life without the multitude of stories that world and it's authors has provided. I always say my body grew up here, while my imagination grew up in Faerūn.
As passionate as I've been about it all, it's awesome to see that there are others out there that have been carrying the torch and keeping this world alive and moving. I figured it's time I get off the sidelines and join in.
Favorite characters: Erevis, Pharaun, Danilo, Liriel and admittedly Drizzt - like many others, I started with the Icewind Dale trilogy back in the day, and I'll never turn my back on the Dark Elf who pulled me in. Erin M. Evans 'Farideh' made an impression on me as well, really looking forward to Lesser Evils.
Currently reading: Elminster Must Die.
Eagerly awaiting: Lesser Evils and The Sundering series in 2013.
I think I've read possibly 3/4 of the collection, my goal is to own the entirety. I only possess 105 or so of titles at the moment(I used to read them and sell back to the bookstore to afford new ones when I was a young broke lad). I have a looooong way to go, but I will get there - and not on kindle.

Welcome, that is a pretty impressive collection. 
I am eagerly awaiting the Sundering and the aftermath as well. Of course The Companions will be out in a few months.
I just realized today that my "awaiting to be read" stack is getting short..time to reload my Kindle. |

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here! 
As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
