Hello and thank you all for this community!

I am a relatively new to the Realms (a few years in after a long hiatus) and am absorbing all that I can in terms of lore, reading, collecting, DMing and the like.

I am eager to build my working knowledge of the Realms through active discussion and contribution.

Thanks again and I look forward to meeting you Realms-side!

Welcome to Candlekeep, fellow Demicanadian Vancouverite.

I gotta ask ... 9th chapter of what? Curiosity killed the kender, or something like that.

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

Thanks Vorlpalanvil.

Well, let's see, I grew up playing 1st and 2nd edition and have returned to DnD after quite some time away; missed 3/3.5 entirely. I tried 4th edition but did not find it to my liking - missed that sense of wonder and intrigue. With the 1st and 2nd edition Realms, I have once again found it.

I suppose you could consider my style behind the screen to be more story focused than combat focused (one of the reasons I prefer 1/2e to 4e). Second edition is my prefered edition and the Realms is the world in which I prefer to adventure/DM in. Areas I tend to enjoy are Sembia, Aglarond, and the Dalelands; lots left to explore, though, which is one the reasons I am very happy to be here.

As for the novels, I have jumped into the FR library in earnest over the past year or two and am excited about all that lays in front of me :)
