Not a Kickstarter, but a pay-what-you-want bundle of eBooks by RPG designers (sort of like Humble Bundle). |

Rite Publishing's Coliseum Morpheuon is, in effect, the Dreamlands with gladiatorial melee and magical dream-stealing powers that might be applicable for your campaigns.
This Kickstarter is to fund a full novel set in the dreamlands and it follows up an anthology from last year called Coliseum Morpheuon: Anthology of Dreams; in full disclosure, I've got a short story called "Thresholds" in this anthology that does have a tip of the hat to the Realms therein, but that's all I'll admit to. I've always had a interest in the Freeport setting from Green Ronin, but just never really had the opportunity to pick up any of the books. [Though, I've only just now remembered that they're all mostly available as PDFs, and cheap too on DriveThruRPG, so ... ].
Anyways, Chris Pramas has just launched a new initiative to adapt the setting for the PATHFINDER rules set. Details here.
This is one I'll definitely be backing. |

The KS on this one closes in about 2 hours and minutes...and $10 gets you a lot more than just an ebook of the novel. Go check out the benefits of even the smallest pledge! It's made its goal so it will happen...and you can be part of it.

It's Monte Cook and it's built in the grand tradition of PLANESCAPE. There's no way I'm not backing this.

They broke Ouya's first day record 8-). I'm surprised there are so many fans of the game. With McComb and Vallese I'm sure it will have a great story. The Tides it seems will replace alignment.
This is one Planescape-like location in the game:
quote: The Bloom is also a predator that feeds on intelligence or intelligent life. At the same time, it’s unpredictable. It’s an enormous, city-sized thing. People build their homes in there. The reason why is because this thing extends its tendrils through multiple planes. You can cross one of its tendrils and find yourself in a place of pure light, where all matter is transmuted to consciousness. You can find something there and bring it back, and suddenly it becomes a physical thing in your hand. But the problem is, you don’t know at what point the Bloom is going to turn on you and devour you. So the people who live there are all just a little bit crazy. They’re extraordinarily paranoid. They’re also extraordinarily superstitious, because they all have their own little rituals… It’s like a tiger defense rock. Do you see any tigers? No? Well, it must be working.

This Planescape "inspired" project certainly caught my interest as well ... you really can't go far wrong with old Monty ... Vallesse, however, has demonstrated a far less impressive record. And yes, I did finally procure and read the novel, and even after expecting the worst it was still disappointing. |

And I was in on that one. Didn't even have to think twice. I jumped right in as soon as I learned it was a legitimate Kickstarter initiative.
Personally, all I know about Veronica Mars is that the main actress was attractive and it used to come on right before Gilmore Girls.
Pretty cool to see this level of support, though...
Now, someone call Joss Whedon, and see if we can get him to do the same thing for Firefly! |

It'd be really cool if they did that... Nathan Fillion's current show, Castle, has included plenty of Firefly references -- including one episode where his Halloween costume was Malcolm Reynolds's normal attire. He told his daughter he was dressed as a "space cowboy" and she said "didn't you wear that like six years ago?"
A couple of the other Firefly cast members have been on the show, too, including a recent episode with Gina Torres. |

The one with Adam Baldwin was kind of cool... since both characters [Fillion and Baldwin] tended to play much toward their old roles on Firefly. |

The Shadowlands is a campaign setting for the Pathfinder system. They've already started to release some product out there, including a free PDF mini-adventure Carthica's Pride.
The current Kickstarter is to raise funds to create a campaign setting guide in the style of the 3E Campaign Setting books such as the ones for the Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance.
Kickstarter Link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/shadowlands/the-shadowlands-campaign-setting-guidebook-for-pat
To that end, the designers behind Shadowlands are Realms fans and just announced in Update # 9 they've managed to pry Ed away from producing Realmslore long enough to contribute some setting material for Shadowlands.
Another contributor is cartographer (and artist, including faction insignias) Jonathan Roberts who recently made the maps for Kobold Press/Wolfgang Baur's Midgard Campaign setting. He is also the cartographer for The Lands of Ice and Fire atlas for a little fantasy novel series called A Song of Ice and Fire (The Game of Thrones), perhaps you've heard of it. |

After going to support the dwarven forge one (I need to form up another game group sometime in the near future, what with all the minis from reaper and now these dungeon tiles), I saw this one for sails of glory advertised
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1402889231/sails-of-glory-miniatures-ship-combat?ref=live
Basically, you get a bunch of ship models that I figured people might enjoy for use in a pirate campaign or something. I can even possibly see people combining that games rules into a naval game based in the realms where cannons are more common.
This idea also brought up the idea that I'd love to see someone make simple flat printouts of D&D class ships that you can use minis with. Maybe someone knows of such already. Anyway, just figured I'd share the find in case anyone's interested.

I find this kickstarter quite intriguing. It seems as though it is a mix and match stock art (created by the creator) to create portraits of you characters. The nice thing is, I think it would work well for games like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights as well (two games that I spent way too much time trying to find the right portrait for my character on). |

I backed the Larry Elmore kickstarter, and just got an update that apparently he (along with Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman) had developed a campaign world called Sovereign Stone, and there must have been some novels about it. I've never heard much about it, though I do recognize some of the paintings. The update states that a group is going to be developing the game world further along with pathfinder rules. I figured some might find it of interest. They're only looking for $10,000 and they're already at $7,000, so it should get funded. Looks like for $50 you can get a bunch of PDF books, or for more you can get start getting the physical books (eventually some signed versions). BTW, if anyone is familiar with Sovereign Stone (I'm not), feel free to fill in any details.

According to his posts on Facebook, it was funded within 8 hours.
I'm interested, but we again have the issue of the print books being pretty pricy. |

yeah, given I know nothing of the campaign world, I wouldn't go past $50 if I did get it to just get the PDF's and read them on a tablet. However, since its funded, if the stretch goals get interesting, it could drawn me in. |

I read and enjoyed the Sovereign Stone trilogy (and it was nice to finally meet Shademahr, considering how much I like the painting Shademahr Encounters Baakish Va), so I am interested in this KS. |

So someone bought the movie rights to one of Jack Chick's "publications" and is doing a Kickstarter on it: RPGs are Evil - Dark Dungeons: The Movie!
quote: If you're not familiar with Dark Dungeons you can read it in its entirety here;
DARK DUNGEONS: THE COMIC
But all you really need to know is that it sets out to show what Jack Chick knows to be the truth behind role-playing. It shows that;
*Playing RPGs can make you gain real life magic abilities
*If you gain a high enough level you will be invited to join a secret cult
* Gamers whose characters die are in danger of committing suicide.
* That DM's are vile temptresses that are out to corrupt their players to the forces of evil.
Given all those startling claims it's amazing that the crusade against RPG's has not been more successful! In fact, the last movie to crusade against D&D was Tom Hank's 1982 classic, "Mazes and Monsters."
We are going change all that. I'm already investing all of my lottery winnings in this project but it's just not enough to get it filmed and that's where you come in.
If the idea of seeing a movie where all the anti-RPG arguments above are made with every last drop of drama and conviction I can wring out them appeals to you, then I want you to invest today and make this movie a reality.
Please check out the video above to see what we are capable of and remember that you are only charged if we meet our funding goal. If the project does not receive it's complete funding you are charged ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
He mentions a love of Stephen Colbert, so I'm guessing that's the style he's going to shoot for: acting very serious while making ridiculous claims, but doing so in a manner that shows how ridiculous they are. |
