Grand Rapids has its first gaming and comics convention coming on September 20-22, 2013 so there's still time for folks to get in on this.

http://grand-con.com/

If I were the only guest there, it'd be hardly a blip worth mentioing, but I'm one of three FR luminaries present so I thought it might be of interest to some. Ed Greenwood and Jeff Grubb are both slated as guests, and I'm very excited as this'll be the first time in at least 12 years since all 3 of us have been together at a convention or otherwise.

Also, Tracy & Laura Hickman will likewise be there, and I'm sure folks'll forgive their lack of FR content just based on what they gave us for Ravenloft and Dragonlance.

Last note to sweeten the pot for folks--there's a ticketed event in which your ticket price goes to a children's hospital fund here in Michigan. For that ticket, you buy one of three or four seats in which you can play LORDS OF WATERDEEP with me, Ed, Jeff, or any combo therein (depending on the timing of it all).

Hope this is intriguing enough for folks to want to venture to the wilds of southwestern Michigan, as I'd love to meet more Candlekeepers in the flesh (and I don't get to Gen Con as much any more).

Steven

More the 50 away, too far for me to travel.

I take it the purchase of that ticket affords a chance to get a seat at the LORDS OF WATERDEEP game table?

"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

I'd just like to derail this thread for three seconds to say HI STEVEN! Long time no see, on the forum level at least since I'm unfortunately not one of the Candlekeepers who've met you at previous cons.

I'm tempted to hitchhike over there to see you and Ed and Jeff (I really hope you all enjoy your reunion), and Tracy & Laura. That's quite a name list for the grand opening of a new con; I wish the event and all the participants the best of luck.

If there were any time when my crazy theories on quantum teleportation could come together and work, it should be now.

While I'll really only be able to attend through spirit, Steven, I'd like to wish all the attending folk good times for this. It sounds like it will be a real hoot!

I do believe so, yes. Or more particularly, I believe a ticket purchase gets you to the table, not just a chance. But I'll check with the organizers to be absolutely sure.
