Does anyone know what happened to the school Velti'Enorethel in Loudwater, is it still around and is it still inhabited by the elves? Also the wards of Loudwater green regent adventures its almost like it is described as a mythal or something with Glaer Grasswave being described as studying high magic and having to make repairs on it. Has anyone come up with what these wards are and if they are still present as of 1490 DR?

Loudwater is not mentioned in the SCAG, and I don't think other products even mention it, as 5e focus was the Remembered Realms (aka the Sword Coast). And while Loudwater was updated in the 4e FRCG, the places you mention aren't mentioned in the town's description (thought, most mythals got destroyed or modified by the Spellplague, so there is that). So is up to you to determine what is the current status of these places. |

Loudwater is updated in 4th edition during the 1480's before the second sundering. There is a log-fort town on the south side of the Delimbyr. My understanding is to take the sparse 4th edition area (Loudwater was home to a basic adventure in the 4th Edition Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting) as evidence that the old city of Delimbyr that spanned the river had been abandoned and the government moved inside this hastily constructed palisade. Surely the old city has been recovered since 1487DR or before. The spellplague was a rough time and I imagine the farmsteads and villas between Daggerfall and Loudwater were all destroyed by plaguewrought land and the fall of civilization in the savage frontier for the past century. The miracle recovery of Faerun in 1490DR must involve the eager cultural renewing of the foundations of Loudwater.
I imagine the earthquakes of 1487DR devastated the old city foundations and much would have to be rebuilt from the ground up- with individual vine-wrapped stones incorporated into new buildings. The loss of old Loudwater and the earthquakes may have set yet another old population of moon elves to flee for Evermeet- leaving yet more of the ancient settlement's property into the hands of humans and half-elves. |
