Well met, learned adventurers of the realms.
I am currently taking my first tentative steps into Baldurs Gate II, and whilst tooling up my party to really 'kick some butt', I have come across XBOW12- Flasher Launcher and it's ammo BOLT07 Flasher master bruiser mate..........however, non of my party are able to use it at the moment. Can anybody give me any lore on this mean looking piece of kit, it looks awesome, just the thing for dungeon clearing
Also, anybody know about a couple of items listed under Darts in create item...Melf's minute meteor (I know of a spell of this name), code MELFMET....these cannot be removed from backpack and on identyfing, it says it is a stone created by melf's minute meteor. The same seems to apply to Searing Orb (also a spell?), likewise, it was listed under Darts (code SORB)....again it cannot be removed from backpack, and identify says it is a stone created by the spell. I would just like to know if they can be put to some use, by whom, and how do you get them out of your inventory if they are of no use?

The Flasher Launcher is the personal weapon of the joinable NPC Jan, and only he may use it.
The other items are created by spells. They're undroppable because the spell creates them in the weapon slot, then destroys them after time is up if you have not used them.
I'm not sure why you're going through cheating in items before playing the game... if you play through normally then it should all become clear to you. :) There's lots of items the game uses for various purposes that have no place in the inventory of your characters. |

I agree with Andyr. You should never use Shadowkeeper or other cheats unless you've beaten BG2 at least several times.

I completely agree, Baldur's Gate II Shadows of amn is a GREAT game, to great to spoil it by using any kind of cheats. |

Agree Agree Agree.
Try out the game, it's a LOT better without cheating.
It's all so pointless when you cheat... You get a kick from being all-powerful yea, but it's all meaningless hence. |

I wasn't quite saying that; more pointing out that if you've not played the game and start off messing with the inner workings then you'll likely get confused (as the poster found out) and could cause problems with your game. |

I knew that. The last part was my own opinion. My apologies for not being clear. |
