Okay, we know of Alias, and we know of Cat and the Alias construct that became a cleric and married Akabar Bel Akash, but has anyone ever detailed any of the other Alias constructs or where they may have ended up?

quote: Alias was but the first Alias vessel, for Phalse create at least a dozen near duplicates, all of which are believed to now wander Faerūn. It is possible that Phalse shared the secret of their construction with other demons or the like, although the death of Cassana, the mother of Alias, most likely precludes any more identical duplicates of Alias. However, no proof of such knowledge sharing has been uncovered. Five of these have been identified, including: Cat Wyvernspur of Ordulin, wife of the noble hero Giogi Wyvernspur (see below); the deceased thief Jade; Zhara, a cleric of Tymora and widow of the Turmish hero Akabar Bel Akash; a sage in Candlekeep; a warrior in eastern lands; and a lady of power in Waterdeep. Each of the Alias vessel replicas contains a sliver of Dragonbaits soul, and thus each is always of good alignment.
Eric Boyd & Tom Costa's Bestiary of the Realms, Volume I(available here) contains a 3.0 Alias Construct template and the quoted information.
EDIT: I hate how this place only accepts lower-case tags. |

You know, the irony is that I have downloaded that, and I know somehow I must have looked at that becuase I have used other monsters from that work before. Thanks for redirecting me Arivia.
I know where Cat and Zhara are featured, but where were the others detailed? Although I do remember the Alias Construct that Alias saw that was outfitted as a ninja in Azure Bonds . . . |

You're welcome. As to where the others were mentioned, I've no clue-Eric Boyd and Tom Costa only noted Cat and Alias' appearances... |

So which one is in power in the great City of Splendors? Or is that not detailed?
Weird that this thread should come up since I just recently started reading that trilogy again.

The Waterdhavian one is a courtesan. I think most of the identified ones are mentioned by Zhara, in the early part of Song of the Saurials. If you look back at the end of Azure Bonds, you get some simple descriptions of some of the others. Jade More, the deceased thief, is in the novel The Wyvern's Spur, same as Cat of Ordulin. |

I need to go back and reread those. I am currently reading Masquerades, which is what spurred the question in the first place. Its been a long time since I read the original trilogy. |

Its sad with the exception of Homeland, there are very few FR books that I have reread. Or when looking for NPC information for the NPCs that I have statted (eye color, hair color, etc). Yet, novels by David Weber (military sci-fi), I have read over 6 times or more.
Will need to dig through them and see which ones interest me again. |

I'm in the same boat, Warlockco. It seems there is never enough time in a day to fit in reading a book, anymore. Gosh, I wish my college days were back!

I read an interview with Jeff Grub that might be on Wizard's where he says that if he was to write another book, it would be one to wrap up the Alias vessels that are out there. |

Hm . . . I might go there and try a search for it if all of their topics didn't have a permanent non-detection cast on them . . . |

Here is the interview at GameReport: http://www.gamingreport.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=50
The Quote: "As tempting as it is, I would be hesitant to return to Alias and Dragonbait unless I had a really cool story for them. Probably something that wrapped up all the loose ends with the Legion of Aliai. But no plans at the present."

FR7 Hall of Heroes has a bit in the Alias write-up where Lhaeo (now King Haedrak of Tethyr) gives a dissertation of sorts on constructs in the Realms and talks about the Alias-vessels.

Sorry I've been away. I've got nothing to add. Hope the template was useful. I believe the list of the other "Aliases" came out of FR7 or Heroes Lorebook. |
