Hi all,

I'm playing through BGII, and have just paid Arran Linvail for the Ship, and am 'cleaning up' any odd quests before I set sail (btw is there any time limit to get to the ship?He keeps muttering about how the captain is getting impatient or something)...I'm exploring the Sewers in the Temple District and have found the 'Secret Entrance' (looking for the Haer'dalis) and have come up against a roomful of mindflayers...on their own I can handle them but there's abt 8 and they keep psionic blasting and using Domination...any hints/tips??

Best etc.,

Alex

P.S. my party is all around Level 11-13, I have Alexis Merlin (myself) Mage, Keldorn, Jaheria, Yoshimo, Anomen, Valygar. If you want specifics abt equipment etc let me know.

There is no time limit. You can spend two years picking your nose and they will still be waiting for you.

Have Anomen memorize Chaotic Command and use these on your tanks. Keep the rest of the party in the background. I do not believe Jaheira can memorize them, with her being a druid, but if she can, let her. They are very helpful in general and a have a very long duration.

Summoned critters are also helpful. Bash the Illithids while they guzzle kobold- or hobgobling-brain.

monks are very good against mind flayers. my level 18 monk can handle even smaller groups of mind flayers without any external help, his resistances and other nifty bonuses are really interesting.
