Soldiers fight, thieves steal, bards sing, wizards cast, sages think, assassins kill. Good or Evil we all have a job. So tell me this. What the hell are nobles and merchants for?

For the good side versus bad side. One thing sure, it is more like a rough rugby match. But I can merely offer some fairly accurate assumptions. Honestly, I don't know some of the names on the bad side as I had never heard of them before till today.
If both groups were to challenge each other with all their combined might, both sides might lose out. But I think a one on one fight is more likely to happen once both sides have chosen their choice of "baddies" and "goodies" to fight. For the good side, the main assault weapon would be Shandril, in an initial match, she might be able to burn or wound with spellfire at least several wizards on the evil side more notably: Leevoth (more fighter than wizard) Manshoon, Semmennn and Fzoul as well as Hardrune(he is several steps below Telamont). Against more powerful opponents like Larloch, Halaster, Szass Tam and Sammaster they will more likely to withstand the attack more stoically and more wiser in magical lore to know how to counter Shandril's spellfire. Elminister can go toe to toe with Halaster and both can fight for day and night if they so wished to, for both are the realms best and notably very ancient epic mages. Halaster's madness would grant him an slight edge against El and this madness make him a very dangerous adversary as afterall "what does a madman have to lose?". Khelben may be of strong enough material to challenge the ancient lichlord Larloch but Khelben's occasional lack of patience and temper flares may be a weapon to be used by Larloch against Khelben as Larloch is very patient afterall. But Larloch must skirt the fight carefully especially where Khelben's silverfire(Khelben's truimph card) is concerned, until larloch managed to draw Khelben into using silverfire, larloch have to plan his attacks very carefully-this I am sure Larloch will do pretty well. Caladnei may not be able to fight any on the bad side and may likely be the first KIA once the fight begins. Vangerdahast may be able to fight the Zhent leaders and the other unknown names as Vangey was once trained by Elminister afterall. The other Seven Sisters have one common power is the Silverfire which serves as their truimph card. Their fabulous beauty may serve as an extra weapon against the baddies except against Szass Tam & Larloch(Undead aren't affected by charms or seductive desires of the flesh), Halaster (madness prevails over base desires) and Fzoul(he doesn't seem to be that easily charmed and seemed to have immunity.) Laeral, Alustriel, and Sylune may fare well against most of the baddies especially those wield magical power but the three individually may not fare well against the evil big shots like Halaster but the Simbul might have a chance against Halaster as both are equally mad enough but expect a ugly brawl to happen if both were to fight each other. Against Hardrune, they will fare well enough. Dove and Storm are not so good at magic but compensate for it with physical prowess and they can fight well against Leevoth and any foe on the bad side that can physically fight well. For Qilue...I am quite uncertain about her but I certainly believe she can fare fairly well enough against most of the baddies except for the big shots which might win against her.
As for your second question, some such as Elminister, Simbul, Hardhrune might be found in the FRCS and some other sourcebook but for Yamun Kahan, Queen Amlaruil and certain others, that I have no answer at the moment.

Uh, the first part is ultimately a large X vs. Y type of combat. These types of discussions are quite discouraged in the Candlekeep Forum Code of Conduct (section B4). There's a number of reasons for this, including the fact that it's all based on opinion, it usually involves (particularly in this case) an unlikely scenario, and it doesn't really add anything to discussions of Realmslore.
The second part... Most of these people are statted out in a variety of sources. Just a few minutes of searching would easily give you the info on perhaps 75% of them. Do you not have much Realms material? I'm also a little curious as to what purpose knowing the levels of such a wide variety of NPCs could serve. |

I would first like to thank Shadovar for really helping to answer my question, Tempus thanks you! I did not know about the first question type not being looked good upon, I'm sorry it will not happen again. As for the second question, how to put it best, I am not really "financially suited" to buy the stats and info books as it is already bad enough that i buy Forgotten Realms novels, it was just actual curiousity that wanted to no the levels as for a small idea to make my own stat book for myself so as not to feel deprived lol. But I quite understand if one isn't able to answer the question as I might be coming upon a job that would stop me from really relying on my parents for money(as do all teens). Still if anybody does take the time to answer the second question, it would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks again! -Atlas |
