I guess this might be ok so im posting it. Has anyone heard of the knew Grewhawk game(even though it should have been a realms game, much better setting) coming out later this year(I think). It is using the Arcanum engine and is supposed to use 3rd edition rules if I saw that correctly. A few screens are out but none of actual ingame play. Yall should check it out.

Arcanum was an incredible game!!!! But I thought the engine might be slightly outdated now. I heard rumour of this somewhere. I also heard that it got scrapped. It would be cool if it DOES come out though. Where are you finding the screenshots? I would be interested in seeing them.

This sounds very intressting. But how much does the world of Greyhawk differ from Faerun? I mean what are the main differances? What sort of a game is it (i.e. High fantasy like the realms, Horror fantasy like ravenloft)? Last night i was talking to several players in one of the Groups i play with and several of them mentioned DM a game there, but i forgot to ask these important questions to them! Any way an infomation would be most useful! Hanx Elrond |
Once upon a midnight dreary, while i pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore- While i nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. -The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe |

| Yes, thank you Rad that is the name of it. There are some screens on gamespot. Just go to pc, then rpg, then scroll down. As for the differences between the two worlds Im not exactly sure because Ive never done anything related to greyhawk. It is supposed to be more non linear than past DnD pcrpg's. I do know it for sure coming out though, just not exactly sure when. |

I may be entirely wrong but I believe its a lower fantasy level than FR, more of a dark ages period than mediaeval. There is so magic but I dont think its as highly used and featured as it is in the Realms. Theres a link to a Greyhawk sites over in the Other World Portals. Im sure that site also has a links page for more information too.

Basically Greyhawk is Gary Gygax's World. It is the Great Grandfather of all campaign worlds. From Grey Hawk people like Mordenkainen, Bigby, Nystul, and Otiluke were born (You can get their stats in the 1st edition Rogues Gallery). Greyhawk is not really on a darkages tech level. But it DOES tend to be more medieval and feudal then the Forgotten REalms. I used to play extensively in Greyhawk from the age of 9 to 15. The realms is a much higher magic level, and in Greyhawk everything is as written in the core books. If you know how things work in the Forgotten relams you know how they work in Greyhawk accept that Greyhawk did not have a WEAVE. The magic came from the planes. Greyhawk stuff is much easier to convert than other campaign settings.
Any of the old number series of modules, were set in Greyhawk, in other words you could find White Plume Mountain on the map instead of placing it.
If nothing else Greyhawk is a good place, because like Forgotten Realms you cannot play the VERMIN known as KENDER.
I cannot abide those creatures, filthy little animals. And Gully Dwarves are even lower. They are all like...Jawas.

If The Temple of Elemental Evil game does come out, and it done well, it would rock. The original adventure, The Temple of Elemental Evil, was very cool, though Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil wasn't as good (leave it to the Wizards to butcher a perfectly good set of memories).
As for greyhawk, I was in love with that world, and now it's almost no more. <weeping> Don't get me wrong, the Forgotten Realms are cool, but being a godlike wizard was always more fun in low magic worlds. |
