Play IWD2 online? Did I miss something? Isn't IWD2 similar game design as went into the BG series?

Yeah but you can still connect, to play it online. I don't do that though, can get hazardous for your health.

Hmm...I didn't know. I've had the game for a while now, but I've never really played it, since I've been busy with other things. So, basically Bioware stole the idea of Battle.net?

Has anyone here played IWD2 online yet. I am just curious as to what you thought and, also whether your experiences were any good?.
I have reservations about this type of system, but I thought I would get a general consensus together before I decided to try it. So if you have any thoughts or feelings about the online gaming system concerning IWD2, I would like to hear them.
May your learning be free and unfettered

Hmm, the hard thing with playing RPG games online is that usually the long story tends to "breake" the party. Thus I tend to play with people I know or join a players guilde some where. IWD 2 only supports TCP/IP. A real shame that is since its really fun to play at LAN partys.

I don't need a technical explanation, but I'm curious why you find it "a shame". |

These are not one-shot scenarios, they made not for multiplayer. Infinity Engine games are made for single player so i've never been into multiplayer action. It could be funny, but i have no hope of getting the single player taste from it.
