5th level or higher Least Ritual (2,500gp Gold covers use of the Open Lords hall in the Palace, the open lords time and suitable attire for the wielder for the ceremony):
11th level or higher Lesser Ritual (12,500 Gold covers paying Sages to research Azuredges wielders and where they died it also covers the cost of the rare Incense used to put the wielder into a dreamlike state): Conduct a 24hr vigil at the sites where the previous wielders of Azuredge have died. During each vigil Azuredge wielder will enter a dream like state in which they will fight a battle against the creatures that felled that particular wielder. If the wielder fails then he must begin the ritual again from scratch starting with the Warlord Lauron. The dream foes can not do any real damage to the wielder and when the dream battle ends the wielder has exactly the same abilities and hit points as he had before he began the vigil
Name: Warlord Lauron Cause of death: Orc Archers Location: Ahghairon’s tower Dream Foe: 10 Orc archers

As of 1374 Azuredge is in the hands of hobgoblin Green Dragon Shaman who lives in the Kryptgarden forest north of Waterdeep
Note: The 2ed City of Splendors has the Azuredge reappearing 10 years (1368) after its last wielder died during the Time of troubles in the Safehaven Inn in Waterdeep it is intended that the player characters would take up the axe. In the interest of adding another wielder to Azuredge and setting a location where the axe can currently be found I have created a 5th wielder
17th level or higher Greater Ritual (40,500 Gold covers researching the history of the throne and divining its current location, it also covers Spells and spell components needed to make the throne vulnerable to Azuredges strike): Destroy the Bloodbone throne of Uruth Ukrypt
Note: Information on the Bloodbone throne of Uruth can be found page 72 of Dragon 351 (including its history and current location)

Well it might be interesting to discuss, however from what little I know about this new artifact with penalities and bonus my comments would not aid you at all.
Oh one comment a Paladin tends to be warrior type, why does not this Axe serve one?

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding. "After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first." Very nice Dargoth. I don't have "Weapons of Legacy" but this seems a very "true to the Realms" treatment. Well done.

Thanks George
I wasnt quite happy with the MoF take on Azuredge for some reason the authors changed a number of its abilities from what they where in the 2ed CoS (Lost being made out of silver ands abilities vs undead and gained wounding)
Im thinking of cracking open FR 4 and seeing if there are any other items that havent been converted yet, maybe Adjatha or the Trumpet of Doom could be interesting |

This is very nicely done Dargoth, with a good use of existing Realmslore.
