Hi everyone, wanted to know some ideas or thoughts on my new and upcoming campaign, just to warn it is a bit of a spoiler, is a follow-up to the Last Mythal series.
SPOILER
and the character's are from Evereska and the High Forest and are seeking revenge for the destruction wrought on those places since they were not part of the Crusade.
I was going to give them an NPC who, per the alter-self ability would be a spy Fey'ri who would seem to help them but would in the end turn out to be the bad guy and pit them against them.

What sould be the level of the PCs?
perhaps you can use the plot thrown at FRCS (i believe) with the corrupted ancient treant (since they start opperating in High Forest) if they are low level or dont want to face him to avoid powerplay you could have them sort out a dispute between him and an order of good-alligned druids (say followers of Mielikki from tall-trees?) in a peacefull way

Starting this group out fresh, first level. Going to have a Lathanderite priest and a wood elf scout. Both are easy to tie into a Fey'ri hunting campaign. I like the idea of using a corrupted treant as a lead in, just have to figure out how to get them tied into a specific Fey'ri as their enemy. |

Perhaps the Fey'ri uses them for its own goals perhaps? Perhaps have the Fey'ri disguised as an Elf(Sun) then joins the party and let them go questing for a while
I think it should have a strong personality in the team, dont let it fall in the sidekick-helper category. To make things spicy i would have it to be female (in disguise too) and have some romance with the wood elf (of course she will be fooling him) while play the friend with the priest.
Now at some point of the campaign (after 2-3 sessions, when she will be complete member of the party) have the PCs + the "Elf" to go for a search of an artifact of sorts, and when they find it her true form will reveal go away with the artifact. |
