I like it. Malar is one of my favorite evil gods in the Realms, and this shed some light on his worship and followers. I love learning more about him. And now there's part of me that would like to run a CN Barbarian/Cleric or Favored Soul of the Huntlord.

The unexpected magic use by Elaith was rather a delight as well. He's got more up his sleeve than you'd ever guess!

What I liked best about this story was the ending, when Arilyn tells the young Malarite that he could always find a new pack to run with. That just stuck with me.

"Instead of asking why we sleep, it might make sense to ask why we wake. Perchance we live to dream. From that perspective, the sea of troubles we navigate in the workaday world might be the price we pay for admission to another night in the world of dreams."
--Richard Greene (letter to Time)
