Character Description and History

I am a stout, depressed, alcoholic, sucidial, little halfling, but I was not always this way....

I was orginally a human pirate who ruled the Sword Coast along with my father, Jess Goodwind. I was trained in the art of thieving by my father since my birth, everyday from sun up to sun down. For the first eighteen years of my life this was all I did, pretty boring if you ask me. I was never allowed to join in on the raping and pillaging of the Sword Coast, because my father did not want harm to befall me. But being the unwise and unintelligent person that I am I decided to follow my father on what would be his final escapade.

It was during the year 1364 that this happened, my father and his crew went on a raid of the port town of Balder's Gate, but the town's guard, the Flaming Fist, was waiting for them. I watched as my father was beaten and taken captive, and the only thing I could think of was how I was too weak to stop them. This is when I decided to start training as a fighter and not as just a weak little thief. So started my roaming days as a freelance thief, until one day I tried to steal something from a powerful ruler known a Slanti Uth Malain. I was caught and instead of being killed I was forced into his service. This service did not last long as I killed on my first misson for him. That is when I got reincarniated as a halfing and became very depressed. Slanti did not know what to do with me so he handed me over to his friend a water priest. But the way I figure it, life goes on.
