Character Description and History

Striking features, nearly shaved black hair, stoic composure in most instances(since he is often on the road and in times of danger), but jovial and lighthearted when amongst the good-hearted people of the Dalelands, Cormyr, and the other villages of Sembia and the Elven Court.

Born in Immersea, born a bastard, orphaned at birth and orphaned by his foster fisherfolk parents at age 2. Raised by the retired paladin and knight of the crown, Sir Donovan Skatterhawk. Raised as a page, then squire for Sir Donovan's nephew,Sir Valahad Skatterhawk.

While growing up, fell in love with the daughter of a noble family: Maggie Rowanmantle. The two played and courted one another casually, but never were trothed.

At age 14, sent off to ride with a patrol of Purple Dragons to secure mercantile routes through Tilverton. Continued to work with Harpers and the Purple Dragons to hunt down the Zhentarim, bandits, goblinoids, and other menaces of the Moonsea lands. Joined Sylvus Silverbow of Evereska in Cormanthor to thwart evil enemies of the Elven people. Worked with Lord Randall Morn and other Dales folk.

Sent to Thay as a secret agent for the Crown to assist with an outpost of War Wizards in thwarting the plots of the Red Wizards. Many minor skirmishes with foes, but nothing major, until the War Wizards ordered that a contingent of 20 warriors be led to the Pirate Isles to investigate and stop the convoy of Thayan vessels en route to the Isles.

Once at the Isles, developed alliance with Sembian naval captain and paladin, Johann Dursheim. Helped destroy pirate alliance and sink over twenty Thayan bombards bound for Cult of the Dragon terrorists in Procampur and Westgate. Of course, the 20+ level Red Wizard Master escorting such devices of terror could not be destroyed. He and his Vampire Lord partner escaped... after taking note of Rhondihir, Johann, and Sylvus as principal enemies. A week later, the War Wizards reported that the Red Wizard Master had been stripped of rank, placed into judgement by the Red Council in Thay, and exiled from Thay for eternity for failing to accomplish such a vital mission. Also, the Cult of the Dragon sources had been compromised by the failed mission, hunted down by hired adventuring parties, such as the Hunt, The Knigths of Myth Drannor, the Harpers allies, and druid-backed mercenaries. With such victory, Rhondihir returned to Suzail at age 18 for a triumphant entry with the contingent of Purple Dragons.

Upon return to Suzail, went to find Maggie Rowanmantle to rekindle the "quasi" romance. Although things looked positive, such was not the case.

At age 18, knighted by King Azoun for service to the Crown and people of Cormyr for keeping the tradeways and sea lanes open and the hearths of the forest folk kindled with safety. Sent with Sylvus and Sir Valahad to Waterdeep to find the kidnapped princess. Along the way, adventured with Mystra against Cyric during the Time of Troubles.

Upon return to Suzail, looked for Maggie Rowanmantle, only to find her betrothed to one Edward Cormaeril. Still enamoured of her, Rhondihir pledged to hold such emotions a secret. Instead, helped to found the Knights of Tyr, a college of paladins devoted to the study of law, economics, religion, and the arts of war and peace. 14 paladins total, taught by merchants, priests, war wizards, knights, and ministers of state.

Called away to engage in a mission of state once more: this time to track down the conspirators against the Crown. Traveled throught the Elven Wood, to Hillsfar and Zhentil Keep, Citadel of the Raven, and through to Sembia and once more to the Pirate Isles. Incidentally, the exiled Red Wizard, Groskthoren von Thray, had been the leader of such conspiracy. The Sembian and Cormyran naval forces were joined together to lead assault on the pirate isles fortress housing von Thray's forces. Strong ties developed between the two nations as the conspirators were destroyed: but von Thray was never captured. Now, Rhondihir must stay ever vigilant against this personal enemy. Assassins have repeatedly attempted to destroy Rhondihir and Sylvus. At one point, Rhondihir was forced to ride with Sylvus into the secret halls of Evereska to escape the hordes of Dragonspear, employed and allied with von Thray, who dared not ride into the last Elven Fortress of Faerun. Currently, Rhondihir is quietly returning to Suzail by circuitous means, undercover of an old gray cloak. Recently, he discovered who his true father ultimately was. While his teenaged mother was traveling to Arabel with her family, she was captured by a band of goblinoids and zhentarim. She was rescued soon after by a mercenary and his warriors. She rode with him, as he marched into Arabel proclaiming himself king. Gondegal. She was pregnant when she fled with him into the thicket after the hosts of Cormyr routed his armies. She was separated from her beloved Gondegal at some point, and never saw him again. Soon after, Rhondihir was born, but her broken heart did not allow her survive the birth, and she died within the night. As a crying babe in the woods, the fisherfolk couple found him almost immediately, gave his mother a proper burial, and raised him until they died when he was two. Having learned of his shameful past by a powerful oracle in Rashemen, Rhondihir has felt a terrible dread. Once a hero of his beloved Cormyr, mocked as "Sir Bastard the Twice-orphaned" by jealous members of the Court, Rhondihir's thick-skin and undaunted skill and courage allowed such taunts to roll away. Now, what would the King think of such as he: a bastard son of the King's first true enemy and the gravest threat ever brought to Cormyr. Perhaps the King would understand that Rhondihir is truly the son of Sir Donovan, a decorated knight, raised with virtue, grace, and bravery. Perhaps, but until Rhondihir learns to live with himself, he cannot bring himself to return to Suzail and face his brothers and sisters in arms. He especially cannot bring himself to face his beloved Maggie, soon to be wed to Edward Cormaeril, a nobleman who certainly must disdain the bastard birth of such a one as he. Additionally, von Thray is still hunting Rhondihir with every force he has. This stop at Candlekeep is the most peaceful respite the hunted paladin has had in many moons. He is to rendevous with Sylvus in Evereska, and from there to ride to Iriaebor. Well met, and farewell to the other fair heroes of Faerun.
