Character Description and History

Verimus Brensworth hails from Cormyr, though not from any of the great cities of the forest kingdom. After his mother passed when he was ten his father, Verimus the 1st, took a call to arms to serve Baron Tigus Fellmore in the stonelands.

Verimus does not talk much about his father, saying only that he avenged him with honor.

What is known that his father and many men were killed by a terrible monster while patrolling the stonelands.

Verimus was taken in by a halfling Innkeeper named Tally-Ho Nimbletoes. An ex adventurer who settled in the stone lands and also adopted a half-orc named Burgot and a human named Tanya.

Verimus took well to the inn keeper life and at a very young age under the tuteledge of Tally-ho became an accomplished cook. So much so that the now 12 year old cooks recipes were sought out for the Baron Fellmore himself.

It wasn't until this time that the strange old man Azmer, whos old manor lied at the southern edge of town, began to take an interest in the boy.

Azmer began to visit verimus and befriended the boy, bringing him books and secretly testing the boys connection to the weave. What Azmer found was astonishing. The boys mind was unlike anything the old man had ever seen. At 12 years old verimus had tuaght himself mathimatics through his cooking recipes and the rudiments of herb lore through his many spices.

After dicussing taking charge of Verimus well being with Tally-ho, Verimus was taken in by Azmer and moved to the Old mans reclusive Manor.

{During this time Verimus goes through the Wizard run series of modules, though much of it is modified to fit his storyline}.

During his time with Azmer, Verimus becomes a wizard apprentice and archeological assistant to Azmer. Together the two spend there days studying the findings of there forays in the ruins of Necronolis, a once great and terrible empire.

Though Azmer is killed later by a book found in necronolis and must be put to rest by Verimus when he becomes inhabited by a spectre, Verimus now 14 years old, continues his masters work in Necronalis,and his magical studies. Verimus finds out that rupert is responsible for the creatures that killed his father and tracks him to a hidden ruin system in necronolis amazingly he kills the creature with his newly learned magical skills.

The Baron learns of Verimus rare talents and asks the boy to join his Militia to root out the rest of the monsters plaguing the town. With verimus help and knowledge of the creatures origins, the militia is succesful in destroying them.

With his father gone and Azmer dead, Verimus is without purpose until 3 war wizards from Cormyr come seeking Azmer and find Verimus a 14 year old boy, running Azmers manor. So impressed with the young Apprentices research and mathamatical approach to the arcane they offer to sponsor the boy in attending the college of wizardry. He accepts.

Verimus skill affords him the advanced placement among the third year students in the wizards college. He excels at research and archeology classes,and within two years, at the age of 16, is named the colleges first apprentice.

Verimus spends the next 7 months working under cover in daggersdale with a wizard, Named eric westbloom, researching the secrets of the mourn family histories. Much is unknown about verimus "field Trip" to daggersdale or what his intentions were for researching the mourn family while helping eric westbloom.

When Verimus returns to the college, he is informed that the schools power source, the spell krux has been corrupted. Shortly after the school is attacked and Verimus flees.

Now 18 years old Verimus travels in the company of Perry Stark, who is secretly the outlawed lord of Dagger dale in our groups campaign setting. Verimus has agreed to serve Perry, whos real name is Pierigorn, and help return him to his place as Lord of daggerdale.

Verimus is nothing special to look at. He has brown eyes and cropped brown hair, wears an old hooded brown robe{was Azmers}, and carries ALOT of equipment that consists of rare and common books,components,oils, and adventuring gear for long stays away from civilizations.

He is has come into his own as a wizard, believing the realms to be his teacher now as every master he has had has dead horribly.

Verimus is by no means a "Battlemage" of any sort. He uses few offensive spells preferring illusion/phantasm and abjuration schools of magic.

One of his true loves and favorite past times is languages he speaks draconic,elven common, gobliniod,and gnomish{languages work differantly in our campaign, so they are not recorded as nwp's}.

Verimus has become desensitized to death and bears little emotion for people believing that all people have thier roles to play however short lived, he considers Perry Stark his only friend and has become fiercely protective of the fallen lord.

At present verimus handles his adventuring groups finances and equipment, which he does rather well making the rag-tag groups life style very comfortable and even paying them a monthly stipend from his stolen reserves of gold and gems from the once filled coffers of the wizards college. He contracts them out as if they were hirelings of Perry stark and as such has no affections towards them when they pass.

Verimus believes in an ordered group structure where every person does there job and follows Perry Starks commands, those who do not and put Perry in danger may find themselves left behind in some dungeon to die or have an "accident".

Recently Verimus has finished a spell to summon his familiar in the dwarven lands of the blue hills. His familiar Ripper is a smaller firedrake whom verimus trains with raw lambs meat and rewards with high end lamp oil from Suzial. Though only 18, the former 1st apprentice of the wizards college is the most accomplished adventurer in his party and is well respected by all of them. In truth though not officially the groups leader, verimus is in charge. He controls the information, the finances, and the groups direction through subterfuge and magic, all for fulfilling one purpose...arcane knowledge.
