What do people think in retrospect? |

Posted - 23 Sep 2025 : 18:37:01 -I remember at the time it basically felt like a hybrid product that didn't know what it was. People wanted a sourcebooks, it was an adventure, but it contained plenty of lore, but all of that was secondary to the metaplot of the adventure in the book, which was the main focus.
-Thinking about it in retrospect, maybe all adventures should be like that. Background information and lore doesn't hurt anyone and if it is an adventure in a branded IP, it shouldn't get generic enough to just plot in anywhere. |

Posted - 23 Sep 2025 : 11:04:01 I was tempted to do so, but the overall plotline looked to thin for me in the end.
Instead i reused several of the adventures in a modified form for our current campaign in the Vast. Undercity Sewers and Cursed Warehouse (for a gang war between the Zhentarim and the Shar Women of Tsurlagol) and several adventures of the Vorbyx storyline (changed to fit the orc king Ulbror of Vastar).
I also plan to use Deadly Arboretum and Thayan Enclave and maybe parts Slave Auction when my party reaches Calaunt.
So imho it's a good source to convert and reuse from, but probably not the best cohesive campaign to run it straight from the book.
I really liked it as a sourcebook on the region. |
