There is one thing I have been trying to reconcile in my head and that is the location of Suldanesselar in Baldurs Gate (game & novels) and whether the elves of that city are the suldusk of Elaine Cunnighams books as the suldusk were almost wipedout alongside the elmanese and they were wild/wood elves not the moon elves portrayed in the game and BG novel. So are they related or two different people? I know Suldanesseslar appears in Lands of Intrigue (I have been reading 2nd ed. stuff from the WotC site to try and catch up with my realms lore also just as something to read when not working), but yeah I still can't come up with a diffinitive answer, as the BG novels are (in my opinion) not coherent with most realms lore among other things.
And yet ANOTHER thing concerning moonblades (a popular topic from my searches) as far as I know there are only 4 definetly know, Arilyn Moonblades, Elaith's, the Starym corrupted moonblade and the one belonging to Elhan in the BG novel (which as much as i'd like to ignore it its in a novel so its part of lore), are any others known?
In Volos Guide to all things magical there are materials there which I haven't encountered before (like Adamant, and that funny metal begining with Z that i can't pronounce), have these ever been brought over to 3rd or 3.5?
And lastly I have been planning to write two or three short Forgotten realms stories around a character of mine and were wondering if once they are written I could post them here? There won't be any realms shaking events or prodigous amount of fighting or magic. The story focuses on a mainly ordinary guy trying to find his way in life and dealing with everyday (kind of everyday) ordeals they will be quite grounded with the hope that readers will be able to empathise with the characters, they also will allow a closer look at some everyday aspects of faerun life and obsure minor bits of realms lore i find interesting. The setting will be waterdeep and its surrounds i will do my best to have it fit suggly into the realms i'd love for others to read them (or even have them become part of realms lore ) and rest assured once they are written they will have much better spelling and grammar than i have shown here.
I know this is ALOT but heck someone has to keep you sages on your toes right...

There where 25 Moonblades at the crowning of Zaor (From Evermeet a Novel)
The Moonflower clan had 3
Giullio
Thasitalia (this would eventually become Arilyns)
Zaor (Evermeets "royal blade")
Amarillis Clan had 3
Echo
A unamed Wizard from Tangletrees
An Unclaimed Moonblade (Which caused alot of trouble)
Alenuath clan
Adamar Alenuath possessed a Moonblade he used it to kill himself
Craulnober Clan
1 unclaimed Moonblade held by Elaith for his daughter
So we know of 7/25 |

Suldanesselar is also described in the Lands of Tethyr 2e boxed set. Note, this is the original Suldanesselar. Baldur's Gate II took the name and general location and completely changed it. It went from a hidden redoubt in the trees for the few hundred elves still in Tethyr to a major city. I'm not sure there's been a ruling on it since BGII. |

Suldanesselar is mapped, and detailed, a bit, in Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate II sourcebook.
The Realms of the Elves anthology has another half-elf with a claimed moonblade.
Yes, you could post your short stories here. There was a time we were working on a PDF of short stories like the Compendium but we didn't get a lot of writers and so it's sort of fell by the wayside. Plus, I'm still waiting for my editor to return my story. Grins.  |

I agree with Hoondatha, in 1 of the novels it was noted that 20 were still active or something like that. Can't remember which one it was though. Perhaps read up Evermeet: Island of the Elves and a few of Elaine Cunningham's novels to get some more information on this stuff. |

Evermeet has a gathering of all current moonblade weilders when they were choosing the king. I think there were about twenty still active (including Zaor's and the moonblade that would become Arilyn's), but it's been a while since I read that passage.
Blackstaff also deals with ten dormant moonblades. Some of these might have been moonblades claimed by gold elven families, though at least one was from a moon elf family (since Tsarra's aunt (?) was a moon elf). |
