it's about Bargle ... the main villian in 1e 'players manual' single campaign :P |

I found it, just a case of scatterbrains on my part. The Aleena Halaran of the Order of the Griffon found in Threshold is the same Aleena, now a 12th level cleric. This is in the Karameikos gazetteer (man, I love that book), the entries on both her and Bargle has information on what to do (change names) if they've been killed in the introduction adventure. |

I agree with Mace when it comes to the GAZ-series, this was the best format for D&D products in my opinion. Its incredible what they managed to cram into these books. I would also like to emphasise Fabians illustrations, to bad he was so little used in Realms products.

Well no, but she was hot. Bless you Larry Elmore. And she was the first NPC you interacted with when you were trying to get a handle on the game. As Bargle was your first named enemy. Did they not bring Aleena back under another name, her twin sister or something?
Hmmm... I don't recall any other references or links to her? Then again, we haven't played in Mystara for years... and I don't have any original D&D modules, so I don't know if she appeared in one of them or not? |

The GAZ is the prime example of how any Regional Sourcebook should be made, clear and distinct separation of player and DM material in two booklets. I wish folks at Wizards would see that, although with Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde it seems they finally got it right. Let's hope that this module is a beginning for a new format and will be used more in the future.
If the trilogy of upcoming adventures follows the Shattered Gates example they will be incredible! |

I agree with Mace when it comes to the GAZ-series, this was the best format for D&D products in my opinion. Its incredible what they managed to cram into these books. I would also like to emphasise Fabians illustrations, to bad he was so little used in Realms products. |

Mystara was converted to AD&D in the later years when BD&D was getting less support (read none). |

What I wouldn't give to see some Poor Richards Almanac type books for FR.
I don't remember Bargle though, just looked through my 1e Players Handbook and there not even an adventure, so you must be referring to ODD. Must see if I can find that old blue book around here somewhere... |

Never played on Mystara. I had a paladin in the Known World...and Mystara came later...
And, damn, I miss the GAZ-series, some of the BEST supplements ever. |
