The second book of the WotSQ series, Insurrection, mentions Ammarindar briefly. The army of the Sceptered One's Scourged Legions control the place now. |

If you want anymore info about Ammarindar, I've also noted the following (mostly very brief) references... though you may well have found them.
There are references to Ammarindar throughout Hellgate Keep, in particular, its timeline notes the following:
-4100DR: Rise of the dwarven realm of Ammarindar.
882DR: Ascalhorn becomes Hellgate Keep. Ammarindar (and Eaerlann) fall.
1221DR: Tunnels are dug beneath Hellgate Keep to connect with the deep tunnels of Ammarindar.
The other references I can find are less substantial... about the most significant of them is the very brief note in Book 1 of Lands of Intrigue (p22) that the birth of Ammarindar (and other dwarven nations) came about due to dwarven migration northwards following the beginning of the fall of Shanatar.

The best info on Ammarindar is found in the old FR11 Dwarves Deep accessory. When I say 'best' I mean geographical borders, a few rulers (Azkuldar, Olaurin and Queen Helmma) and the fact that it made great adamantine armor. Unforunately the material there is too voluminous to type out here. Oh, and the other best source on Ammarindar is Eric Boyd's noggin and PC hard drive.
As for the info on Phalorm, well, Eric Boyd and I ... ahem ... made it up. It started out as a look at fixing the conundrums surrounding the Fallen Kingdom. Most of the creative input for Phalorm came from Eric and I was his trusty scribe, reference chaser and timeline writer. We used the material from FR11 as a base, a few tidbits from Ed and then searched every extant FR text to that point and basically fleshed out the bones. Along the way you often heard the waling and lamentation surrounding the discovery of yet another inconsistency.
I've always thought that Phalorm: The Realm of Three Crowns would have made a great sequel to the Cormanthyr ARCANE AGE accessory. I'd love to do it one day, but it's about 3rd on my "to do" list at the moment.
Of course when and if that day comes, I already have the first flavour piece:
"In unity, we proclaim the founding of glorious Phalorm, Realm of Three Crowns. This dawn has seen the sword, axe and arrow brought together for the salvation of our peoples. May this kingdom’s future be as long and bright as the hopes and dreams of all those gathered here today."

To me, Phalorm respresents a brief, shining echo of what was happening far to the east in Myth Drannor. However, because of its brief time on the face of Faerun (under a century) and the forces that caused it to come to be, it was a nation that was truer to its founding ideals and less affected by racial prejudice and internal dissension. IMHO it was a better example of a multi-race alliance than Myth Drannor ever was. But hey, I'm biased.
After we'd come up with Phalorm, Eric then began to sneak into the official FR continuity, firstly in Demihuman Deities, and then through Dragon and Dungeon. When FRCS was "in the works" we made sure that Phalorm/Fallen Kingdom and the Kingdom of Man were in it and "correct". Since then, it's been set in stone in Races of Faerun and no doubt future FR products will continue to include it.

it s a great document and I found a lot of usefull infos!!! but there is only a few of the fall of Ammarindar!! I only know that the deamons of HGK together with orcs shattered the poor dwarvs, which were lead by a goldhammer clan member but I think there must be more usefull infos about it????
p.s. George where did you find the infos about phalorm???? |
