It appears as though they didn't have much more going on this month, eh?

No, I won't be purchasing this pointless book.

EDIT: Odd, it didn't tally my vote. I opened door number three.

This is a maybe. While I'm not keen on some of these new 4E ideas being used in the Realms setting, that doesn't mean I think they have no merit in any setting. I am curious, although that doesn't mean I definitely will purchase this product, either.

In general I'm opposed to paying money to buy an advertisement directed at getting me to buy the product that they are trying to sell me, if that makes any sense.

In other words, it would be nice if they tried to convince me to spend money without requiring me to spend money in order to see if I want to spend more money.

A completely pointless product! Why not just release it as a web update? Hell, Dragon and Dungeon need some content.

I have to agree. What is the point in this product other than to get us to spend more money while waiting for the "real thing"?

Anyone who likes to read something that's really dark and gritty and completely awesome ought to read The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. You can check out a little taste at www.BrentWeeks.com I should probably warn you, though, that it is definitely not PG-13 :-D

He also started a new Trilogy with Black Prism, which may even surpass the Night Angel Trilogy in its awesomeness.

Editorial Reviews
Book Description
A behind-the-scenes exploration of the Dungeons & Dragons(R) game.

This lavishly illustrated book gives roleplaying game fans a unique, behind-the-curtain glimpse into the making of the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game. The book contains essays and asides from the game's premier designers, developers, and editors. Through words and illustrations, it explores some of the D&D game's most iconic races and classes, sharing insights never before revealed in any previous game product.

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards."
"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

Personally, I am planning on reading it but not buying it. I am curious, but I do not have $20 just to throw at a book I will probably read once. And since Borders supplies coffee and nice plush chairs, I plan on at least perusing it.

You are 1000% right. And yes, I bought it. In my defense I had a 40% coupong from Borders. And the artwork is very good. I have always been a sucker for those Making of featurettes on DVDs and stuff so what the heck.

Hmmm. I really like the 4E artwork so far, so if it's REALLY that great I might up up buying this.

I was at Borders yesterday and checked it out. Didn't they originally say that it was going to be a hardcover book last August? Because I was surprised to find out that it was paperback. Anyways, not only did the cut gnomes, but they cut half-elves as well! I also think it will be weird as to how they plan on introducing dragonborn into the Realms. I will have to check out Dragons of Faerun again and see if it has anything about them in the Realms already. Craziness all around. I think my favorite art so far for Realms supplements is 3.0/3.5e. It was way better than the art in the other 3.0/3.5e materials.

There is, but the dragonborn in 4th edition have always been dragonborn, while 3.5 dragonborn are creatures that have been "reborn" as a new race after coming to serve Bahamut in hia war against Tiamat. The 3.5 origin is the one that is mentioned in Dragons of Faerun.

That's correct--just like with the tiefling, the 4E version of dragonborn is different from that of any previous editions.
