Hi. I've been lurking for a while, and even joined some time back, planning on posting a bit. Alas, life distracted me. But now I'll at least nominally come out of hiding....

I've been reading and playing in the Realms for ... uh ... wow, over ten years, now. Almost as long as I've been playing D&D. I left for my own homebrew world for a while (most of 3rd edition), but I'm back now -- just in time for the Spellplague.

I'm currently DMing a game in the 4th ed. Realms. I'm happy with it, in general, though a lot of it is bittersweet, with the 100-year jump killing off plenty of NPCs, and the new magic system not feelings quite the same. But the game is what you make of it, and I've been doing my darnedest to get the feel of the Realms across to my players.

Anyhow, I could ramble on about my game for pages (it involves Shade, and demons, and Araumycos, and and the repercussions of the Spellplague, and-- sorry), but I'll just stop here, and say greetings. I hope to be around here for a while.

BRITANNUS (shocked): Caesar, this is not proper.
THEODOTUS (outraged): How?
CAESAR (recovering his self-possession): Pardon him Theodotus: he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
